i actually really like the song, but you are right, the childish way to squeeze "private show" is a bit weird :ahhhhhh:

but the rest is totally killing it.

When I heard the snippet for the first time I immediately cringed. When I played it again I gave it a serious side eye. When I saw the commercial in full I just rolled my eyes and laughed and thought oh Britney, I'd rather it be your voice then Myah's. So I appreciate her full dedication for wanting to give us fans something fresh and new but at the same time I want to shake her and tell her to lose the baby voice. It's almost embarrassing to hear when we have this new gen of female singers, underground and established, whose vocals are just undeniably incredible.

I mostly agree with this...I don't find her voice "embarrassing" but I prefer the not-as-nasal high-pitched vocals...but it is very Britney, the baby voice...I'm kinda torn.

I didn't love Hot as Ice when I first heard it for the same reason- but it grew on me. Can't wait to hear all of PS.

The vibe is perfection - that's for sure.

When I first heard the vocals, I was a little like, oh here we go again, but you know what, that is Britney's voice - that's how she sounds when she "belts" out.  The great thing about Britney is that no matter how many studio tricks are used, her voice is distinct - when you hear it, you KNOW who it is.  You either like it or you don't though, there's not a lot in between when it comes to opinions.  The pitch on this song is a little high though - but then listen to something like "He about to lose me" - her vocals are much deeper but she doesn't belt out anything like "Private Show" either - so I think if she's going to sing like that - it's going to be that tone.

Britney has many different vocal tones despite not being well known "singer" but this is what makes her special.
