Child support is supposed to allow the parent with less income to provide a lifestyle for the children similar to that they experience with the parent with a higher income. IDK how else to better explain it. Britney literally makes in a day what she pays Kevin in a month. She's not suffering at all. Most "normal" parents pay no more than 20% of their income to child support, and up to 50% for arrears. If you take what she's made the last few years, $240,000 isn't much.

 

To compare, I read Halle Barry has to pay $16,000 a month in child support for her one daughter; Charlie Sheen had to pay $55,000 for his twins; P. Diddy pays $19,000 a month; and Nas has to pay $51,000 a month. So Britney isn't paying some outlandish amount for what she does for a living.

I feel that the law should require the parent who receives the child support to have receipts and documentation detailing where the money he receives is spent on, down to the very cent, just to make sure it is being spent on things for the child and nothing else. Kind of like how companies make every department do that so people don't embezzle from company funds.

Before I got direct deposit, I was guilty of using child support on my debit card to buy my daughter (and me) lunch somewhere. But there are many things child support can be spent on that is actually supporting the child, but someone might not think it is. My aunt uses child support to pay rent. It keeps a roof over her kids' heads. Some use it to put gas in their car, pay car insurance, pay the electric bill, hell, even the cable bill. In a sense, all of that supports the chlid in some way.

 

Then there are parents who use it to buy alcohol or get a manicure or their daily coffee fix. That's stupid, but unfortunately, judges assume parents are using child support for the kids, not themselves, so they DGAF.

Yeah but see thats why I think the legal system is so flawed and needs to be fixed. I don't know if you've ever watched the Documentary "Dear Zachary:A Letter to a Son About His Father". But it's pretty horrifying and shows how little the system actually cares about kids. I lost faith in humanity after watching that documentary. Like an innocent baby died because of some stupid judge. 

Anyways paying for rent and stuff like that definitely is part of taking care of the child, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are many people who abuse the child support money and the child is barely cared for while the parent spends the money on luxury hand bags or what have you. I think someone really needs to do something about this stupid flawed system to prevent people from doing shit like that. Kfed probably uses the welfare money to provide for britney's kids (and his other kids), but he probably also uses it to spend on himself and that pisses me off that he's mooching off of her money like that.
