Since, well, i'm surprised they did not premiere the music video with the song itself (which I think is possible to drag out promotion for the song, to coincide with a VMA performance), When do you guys think the #MakeMeMusicVideo will premiere?

This upcoming Friday, July 22nd is my guess, however, the following Thursday is possible, maybe with a special VMA announcement?
"In One Month Exactly, and the FIRST IN NINE YEARS, Britney Spears will Perform at the Video Music Awards, 2016 Ceremony. Performing her brand new single Make Me, feat. G-Eazy, Britney is bound to slay us again, if her BBMA performance is any indiction" - I CAN JUST SEE THE HYPE, surrounding Britney, Make Me, the VMAs...that would all translate into HUGE views. However, they could always do that this coming friday as well. Lmfao.

I am hoping she will announce an interview this week, on a Talk Show or something, offer up a sneak peek of the video to the audience (and premiered online on Britney's official VEVO following the airing), maybe a little ellen/britney twitter action? get the blogs talkin? hehehe.
AND THEN, on the friday, premiere the music video on VEVO/YouTube, and release it for purchase on iTunes (Music Video Purchases count as a "Singles Purchase" just an fyi).

It'll help boost the songs sales and streaming, just at the right moment as Make Me might be dipping on radio, thanks to the first week rollback (google it if you don't know what that means regarding radio stations).

I feel like it should be released this week because her singles usually peak on the charts on the first week, so she needs all the extra streams she can gather to get a good debut! However, maybe they're saving the video for something else in the future, but who knows, I just hope they don't wait 127 years :oshit:

I don't think she's doing anything like a performance at the VMAs this year so i doubt she's waiting for that (could be wrong but i just feel a VMA performance should close out the B9 era and not open it).

I think since so much of the video "leaked" she's going to premiere next week just to get it out the way.

I have reason to believe she will be performing at the VMAs, most likely closing the performance with the first television performance of Make Me, with G-Eazy.

and if my sources are correct (they've been both wrong & right before), then it'll be announced at the end of the month

i'd rather them release it second week, so the song has a little bit more longevity.

i would say next friday, but i hope they release it on monday or tuesday. she should start a heavy promotion plan next week so the song doesn't die. we know she is not going to perform anywhere, but she could at least do some interviews on radio and TV, and appearances on ellen or shows like that. "ET exclusives" don't sell a song :displeased:

Oh stop, It was released Two days ago.
Time is just as important as promotion. It's about the right timing, which is what they are doing with the video.
They will release it just as Make Me is about to leave the Top 10, assuming it does, and if not, they will release it.

The point is, longevity.

Plus, i'm pretty sure a VMA performance is happening.

Not joking. I have friends who haven't even EVER seen the Toxic video..

But they have seen newer music videos, I'm sure...regardless if they have or not, your group of friends seems anomalous- people watch and go crazy over music videos all the time. Videos are a topic parodied by Youtubers and television shows and movies and are discussed in the news and in magazines.

They have a streaming service specifically for music videos, multiple awards given for music videos, and at least one awards show specifically to award achievements of the music video kind.

So, yeah, the GP watches music videos. A lot.

And if you're talking abou Britney videos specifically, I wouldn't discount the GP wanting to see this video (which will no doubt get views from controversy alone) because your friends haven't seen a 12/13 year old video...
