Welcome back to another edition of ‘Discover Britney,’ where we highlight Britney songs that were not released as singles. This way, you can share a song a week with people that have not yet had the chance to hear flawless tracks from Britney’s albums. Spread the word!

If you are an avid Britney stan, you will know that almost every track from a Britney album (in an ideal world) should have been released as a single. So many people have been deprived of some of the most timeless tracks and we feel that they should be heard. Join Britney Galaxy on Spotify, where we will add one track a week to our ‘Discover Britney’ playlist. Your gym playlist is set for life!

AND THEN WE KISS (JUNKIE XL REMIX)

Following the major release of Britney’s ‘Make Me,’ we felt it would be most appropriate to dedicate this week’s Discover Britney to another mid-tempo masterpiece from Britney’s first ever Remix compilation. ‘And Then We Kiss,’ was initially intended for Britney’s now scrapped (and highly mysterious), ‘Original Doll,’ album and instead only released as remixed version on the brilliant, ‘B In The Mix – The Remixes.’

‘And Then We Kiss,’ can easily be described as the ‘Summertime Sadness,’ before…. well, ‘Summertime Sadness.’ Although the song was released as a promotional single for the remixed album, it never received a video treatment or any promotion for that matter, which is an absolute shame, as this was one of Britney’s strongest tracks throughout her career. The remix is perfect and was met with positive reviews with critics, the only thing we would change is to use Britney’s original vocals from the track instead. The remix meddled with her flawless vocals on this track unnecessarily.

‘Lying Alone, touching my skin,’ Britney always knows how to get a sexual track just right. The sultry breathy vocals get you hooked from the very first line, a very similar experience to Britney’s iconic self loving track, ‘Touch Of My Hand.’ Another masterpiece songwriting contribution from Britney, showing how great of a songwriter she really is. The remix follows the euro-trance trend making for a brilliant club banger. What we adore about the remix is that they worked with the tracks original guitar and orchestral melody, literally taking an already flawless original track and injecting it with ‘monster hit’ potential. We cry a little inside every time we realize how underrated this perfection really is. ‘And then we kiss, your love comes alive on my lips, I feel the rush, coming over me, over me,’ vocals so hot, butter would melt. Can you feel the butterflies in your stomach? We sure can… Britney has been making us Ooooh for years now…
