I hope to one day be so secure in my position that I drop a project and then hit a water park like LOL fuck all y'all. #Inspirational

But seriously, some of y'all are freaking out too hard. I honestly think this album is a gift to her fans. Songs like 'Make Me' are what a big part of the fanbase have been BEGGING for, for years and we got it! "More Breathe On Me, More Touch of My Hand, etc." and here it is! I don't think she's being lazy, I don't think her team is failing or that there will be absolutely no promo (mainly because that's already not true). I think Britney is finally, truly doing an album on her own terms - at the pace she wants with the type of music she wants.

With very little promo 'Make Me' shot to the top of many charts, albeit briefly, and has been written about nonstop by major publications. Talk about legend status. We can't compare her to people like Beyonce - Britney was causing controversy, breaking records, and generally setting the industry on fire when Beyonce was still trying to figure out how to be a solo artist, a separate entity from Destiny's Child (for those that are too young to know, it took her awhile to get from under DC's shadow and her general reputation at that time).

Let's enjoy this era, charts and sales be damned. I'd obviously be super happy if she does chart and sell well, but this is the Britney album I feel like I've been waiting for years for - the one that she finally seems in control again and wants to make.

Anyway, rant over and I can't wait for Private Show and that 'Make Me' video!

The thing is though, that without Promo, the GP won't support her album once again and we may NOT get as many singles because they won't see a demand for it. BJ all over again. I think that's why people, me included, are annoyed tbh :mhm:

I don't know, I think Britney is beyond having to proof things to her label. And we'll see! There's plenty of time for promo. Billboard had a great Q&A with a bunch of influential people in the music industry and one of the topics was on songs/albums with slow build-ups. This isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Finally, someone here is positive. I enjoyed reading you post. I'm hopeful for some big promo (VMA and another iconic Rolling Stone mag please), but it's not the end of the world if there isn't.

Im perfectly happy and content with the Make Me and what we know is to come - videos, singles and a Bad Ass 9th album! :yeathatswhatsup:
