Is This The Messiest Lead Single Release Of Her Career?

Seriously, we all dragged the BJ Era at the time but flop or not, that era had so much more hype and promo (Even if she didn't perform). We had radio interviews, TV appearances, even the iconic GMA Desert fiasco. 

 

She's literally done zero promo for Make Me (Apart from a few generic tweets). If her schedule was busy with POM then I'd be perfectly fine with it, but she actually has time off. Instead of promoting the lead single of her new album she's choosing to teach a kids dance class? I really don't get it. She's following a flop era and this is what we are getting? 

 

There's no exposure, no hype, the buzz has gone. A crappy perfume, that she probably had a bare minimum involvement in the production of, has received more publicity and promo than Make Me. It's disgusting, considering she said this album was her 'Baby'. 

 

I don't even think the MV or heavy promo can fix this mess now tbh and with this Lachapelle thing coming to light, it sounds like the MV is gonna be shit too. Make Me deserves so much more; it's such a bop, her best single in years! 

 

What do you guys think? Is this the messiest lead single release of her career? Can this era be saved?

Even with all this shit - Make Me has still turned out to be a bigger hit then the majority of her last releases.
But y'all so busy calling it a flop, instead of actually helping it take off.
Y'all preach like you have any idea what it takes to be in this business, when you don't.

but I was actually speaking more generally, and how every post seems to be people on this site thinking they know what it takes to run a successful artists in the music industry, and constantly adapt them through 2 different decades. Like. Girl. You don't know shit. 

You think it's a mess because you don't know anything about it, but for all you know, this could all be part of their plan. 
I mean, for fuck sakes man, Cheap Thrills, THE CURRENT #1 ON THE BB HOT 100, was released 7 MONTHS AGO....got a video 4 MONTHS LATER, and just hit the top of the BB Hot 100. 
Did you ever think Britney's team has more of a LONG TERM plan here? Instead of a front loaded debut? 

Like, if Britney fans just shut up and requested the song on radio, they'd find that will be our secret weapon for when the Music video is released.

It just started the video isn't even out yet, and you're already complaining , how about you just shut up ? Plus how the fuck there's no exposure, since last year she's showing up at awards show/events , she even performed at the bbmas, she made a hot V cover , she was featured on a charity single (although it sadly kinda went unnoticed) she released a perfume with a hot commercial (and an explicit version is probably coming)... i'm probably forgetting few things. All of this is more than BJ era already so there you go. Now promo WILL come, she slowly started radio interviews and will make a tv appearance, we know she will perform at the iHeart Festival, who knows what else is coming but it's starting better than BJ and FF era combined, so now just wait and shut up.

The only messy thing right now is the fans creating drama for nothing.

Does promotion even matter anymore though? I understand as a Britney fan we'd love see our girl's numbers soar on the charts, but at the end of the day as long as she releases an album that's all I need to be happy.

EXACTLY. Who the fuck cares if she is number one.... If she's happy and still releasing music, I'm happy.
