Britney Spears went on Australia's Kyle and Jackie O Show on Monday morning, and a game of Who Would You Rather turned into an awkward moment of shade when she totally forgot she's met Taylor Swift before!

The singer was being interviewed on the radio show when she was asked if she'd rather spend a 24-hour flight to Australia sitting next to Tay Tay or Katy Perry.

Simple question, right?!

Well, sure, but Spears accidentally made things cringeworthy with her response:

"I don't know! I don't know, that's hard. They're both so cool, I don't know. I've briefly met Katy Perry at the Smurfs movie premiere. Maybe because I've met Katy Perry I would say Taylor Swift, because I've never met her before."

The only problem with that is, uh, Brit Brit has met T.Swift before!!

The pair met on more than one occasion, in fact — first, years ago before Taylor became famous, and later at the 2008 MTV VMAs where they actually posed together for a photo!!!

I can't believe this is such a big deal.   It's not like they sat down and had lunch over an awesome salad.

yep, that's true! But I think medication must have had something to do with Britney forgetting that she met the artist that she's been gushing over in multiple interviews.  Britney has been quoted say

But Britney didn't say "I don't know her well" or "I haven't gotten to chat with her" she literally said she never met her. It's just funny, and it would be funny even if it was shade lol

Haha to be fair though, this was really pre-mega fame Taylor (especially that picture on the right, it looks like Taylor was at a Britney M&G :xf8:) Britney comes in brief interaction with so many people, I would never remember everyone I'd met either.

Tbqh of course were all gonna stick up for Britney, there's no bashing from fans and were gonna be delusional and lie to even our mother's! And this is no bashing from me but we all know deep inside Brit is a little cray cray and it's also because of medication. It's the truth though. We still love her and take her as she is. So why should we lie. Lol :zoomzoom:

Just because it's so cool and trendy to be hateful towards Taylor Swift right now doesn't mean Britney said that in a disrespectful way. That's what I think. I don't think there's more to it than what she already said.

 

For the record: I'm not even a fan of Tay's. Never been into her music either.

This works in favor of the media so for the most part it's more of a cheap fabrication rather than something truthful.

I honestly don't think it's anything to be concerned about, even average, everyday people don't remember everyone they've met, I know I don't, so it's gotta be worse for a celeb with all the people they meet. As for the photo shoot, that's not surprising either, she's been doing them since 1998, so she's bound to not remember some.
