Welcome back to another edition of ‘Discover Britney,’ where we highlight Britney songs that were not released as singles. This way, you can share a song a week with people that have not yet had the chance to hear flawless tracks from Britney’s albums. Spread the word!

If you are an avid Britney stan, you will know that almost every track from a Britney album (in an ideal world) should have been released as a single. So many people have been deprived of some of the most timeless tracks and we feel that they should be heard. Join Britney Galaxy on Spotify, where we will add one track a week to our ‘Discover Britney’ playlist. Your gym playlist is set for life!

WHAT U SEE (IS WHAT U GET)

The fact that this absolute bop of a track was missed as a single is absolutely criminal. The sound is unmistakably Britney and *NSYNC ‘naughties’ and it would have been lapped up by every radio station, it would have put, ‘Happy’ to shame!

Best way to describe this power anthem is the sister to ‘Don’t Go Knockin’ On My Door,’ the one with the sass. ‘You should never try to change me, I can be nobody else and I like the way I am,’ if you have ever wondered why Britney fans are so comfortable in their own skin, look no further than these power lyrics, waaaay cooler than the ‘talk to the hand phrase,’ those lesser peasants used.. What U See (Is What U Get) is a song that simply demands respect. If you have that significant other that is trying to mould you into their own ‘build a bear’ creation, it is time to step back, listen to these lyrics and realize that you are perfect the way you are. There are plenty of other fish in the sea, go catch a keeper!

What U See (Is What U Get) pretty much represents Britney’s second album as a whole. If you listen carefully, you will hear elements of every track from the album from the ‘Oops’ moans to the ‘Don’t Go Knocking On My Door,’ iconic voice trickery. This ‘Girl Power’ anthem takes it’s seat right next to The Spice Girls list of world domination. Go on… turn it up loud and dance like no one is watching…

Side note… is it just us, or does everyone immediately follow up to recite the interlude for ‘Lucky,’ as soon as the song comes to an end? ‘…wouldn’t that make a cool song,’ sure will… dum..dum…dumdumdumdum…

Best Lyrics: ‘Believe me, you’ll be looking for trouble, if you hurt me, I can promise you,’

Songwriters: Per Magnusson, David Kreuger, Jorgen Elofsson, Rami

Producers: Magnusson, Kreuger, Rami

Make sure to add our Spotify playlist, where we will add a new song every week!
