What if Team B decided to scrap the vídeo due to the leaks ? Maybe they got pissed at David for not being cautious. Or maybe he started leaking it because they didnt like the final version.

The GP doesn't know of the "original" video, and, tbh all the negativity from you guys will fuel them into think it's bad when it's not. Do you realize there is more promotion than just a video? She's for sure doing IHeart, possibly the VMA's plus other things like carpool karaoke. There are more things lined up in terms of promotion than a music video, and melting down because it's not what you wanted is pointless. "Wondering where everything went wrong" is a waste of your time, I don't know how you don't see that. The video that's been released is terrible, you don't need to know about the original to know this new one is terrible

Terrible is being overdramatic in my opinion. It could be better, yes. But it's not the worst I've ever seen, nor is it the worst from Britney.

You're clearly somebody who doesn't read any press/blogs or anything that's objective or critical of anything you disagree with.

 

The video is being greatly panned, you know that, right?

 

Again you're not reading what I wrote. I told you twice now in this conversation the leaked footage has nothing to do with my disdain for the current video she released.

 

And I'm not even saying it looked that much better, I'm just saying as a huge Britney fan its more than disappointing.

Some people derive pleasure from mediocre drivel - and that's fine! I prefer music video's that are more than just blatant product placements, non-existent plots and completely forgettable. To each their own.

Give me a PROFESSIONAL press/blog that's trashing the video. Not something fueled by fans or some British trash magazine and maybe I'll take your point into consideration.

 

Why is it so disappointing for you then? Because some blogs don't like it? Are you only a fan on things that are "successful"? Give me a logical reason why you're disappointed. Every music video has blatant product placements, that's something I've come to accept nowadays. There's a plot to the video, it could have been done better, sure, but the video has a story.

Have you seen some artists other videos...Rihanna, Katy, for fuck sakes Britney fans think they deserve the world just for liking her music.

All right, this is why I dislike the video:

 

- Britney's brunette friend dominating the opening scene while Britney giggles in the background, says two lines and basically plays guest star in her own video.

- The nonsensical nature of her going to a soundstage, hollywood lot to audition men for the part of her boyfriend.

- The laughing/audio that plays over the song while they're auditioning said males.

- The fact that the auditioning men to be someone's boyfriend is one of the most overused concepts in videos of all time

- The annoying try-hard levity of the Joe Pesci overweight dude dancing with Britney scene.

- The cut to shots of Britney which are inferior in quality to her perfume commercial...I mean this one is a biggie. Her PERFUME commercial is more better than this!

- The hilariously messed up voyeur aspect of her friends watching her have sex and being sad when the image starts to break

- It's completely forgettable. There is not a single compelling aspect to the video that makes it a good Britney video, let alone a good video clip in general.

 

The only pros to the video are:

 

- Britney looks good.

- The song is good.

 

 

And please enlighten us all with this "plot" you're talking about...

Give us your synopsis, I'm sure it will be fascinating and I'm sure an essay can be derived from what is clearly one of Britney's most iconic videos.

Or it could be that I just wrote the plot and its really that simple - its just a hodge podge of half-baked ideas that loosely tie into the song itself but mostly play like a Sex and The City spin-off that CW wouldn't pick up for its network. (And they pick up everything lbr)

I think you're right I hope after this disaster that team B goes crawling back to David and throws money at him or does whatever it takes to make this better for the fans and release some version of the original video!!!!!

Britney was having fun with her girlfriends, she doesn't need to be center of attention all the time. And not being center of attention made me focus on her more than her dancer friends anyway. What you see as annoying and try hard I see as cute and Britney having fun. I liked the cut shots of Britney, definitely not inferior in quality, they're the same level to me. I couldn't care less about her friends, and I'm not sure why you put so much focus onto what they're doing in the video, really.

I dont think they will. But I hope they learn their lesson and they should stop trying to control everything, in order to "protect Britney". They shouldve thought first before shooting the video. And I think David has all the right to take his credits out if they dont respect his work.

 

The best thing Team B could do now is make Britney tweet something about her not feeling confortable with the final result and fans will feel empathetic.

You can be fine with Britney producing shitty videos like this and she will continue to produce videos of this quality for people like you that enjoy these types of videos.

 

For the rest of her fan base (The majority) we know she's capable of FAR better.

 

The song deserved better and if you praise a turd, all you're doing is saying to her and her team that I'm satisfied with everything you give me as a fan and as a consumer - here take my money.

 

Unfortunately, not everything Britney does is gold. And this was a bad PR decision and coming off of her awesome Billboard performance, MM's release (The song itself is wonderful) and the album announcement and "Private Show" release this is a huge blow to the hype that was surrounding this era, this album and any hope that the song itself would have longevity.

 

I guess another factor in why I dislike the video is that it seems rushed.

It seems half-assed.

It's lazy in every aspects of its creation.

For a single that we've waited 3 years to hear, coming off her least favorite fan era this is a disaster.
