There's no point in dwelling on MakeMeGate, it's behind us as far as I'm concerned. What's ACTUALLY, truly important is this: is anything like this going to happen again? That's what I'm worried about... There's a pattern of this happening and unless something changes, this is just going to keep happening over and over again, and that is not ok. Some changes do need to be made to prevent things like this from happening again

It starts with allowing threads like this to take place.

Or they could just address it head on and beat other forums to the punch by making a "MakeMe-Gate" thread pinned to the top of the forum - that way people who want to vent can vent and those who don't want to participate in the conversation can stay out of the thread and not be bothered.

 

It's like Hannah Montana, they'd get the best of both worlds - people wouldn't be flooding this page with thread after thread and Britney's team could see there were a lot of negative reactions to the video.

 

Ignoring fans, silencing fans isn't going to make her team/management/her see that fans were displeased she doesn't have to cater to anyone, but it would be nice to see that she's not so shielded from reality that people can't voice their disdain for any of her projects

 

@laracroftonline is it possible to get a makemegate thread pinned for like a week or so, so people have a place to vent about it?

Considering no matter what she does, people will never be 100% satisfied and there will always be people who are unable to express their disappointment in a mature way, yeah it'll happen again. IMO team Britney has two options, keep EVERYTHING even more secret and locked up than it already is, or be too open and share everything. Because giving bits and pieces leaves fans to let their wild imaginations take over set themselves up for disappointment, but not sharing makes them whine about needing to know what's going on. Really it's lose/lose and up to fans to grow up a little bit and be accountable for themselves and their feelings.

Yes. And even though it has all been messy AF, she looks so fucking amazing in that video! Like....i don't think we are giving her enough credit for that!  AND you can tell the video that we did get, is all her. I can tell she had a lot of input into what that simple video would be.
