Video Update- Britney's Team in Contact with David; Product Placement was Issue

Alright guys, I have a somewhat more detailed update regarding the original version of the video. Like stated yesterday, there has been some communication made with David, but the main obstacle is RCA/Sony and the advertisers. Britney's team is having a difficult time getting the video released in any capacity unless 1. David is willing to make adjustments to the product placement OR 2. Sony/RCA and the advertisers are ok with dropping the product placement in that version.

In the final edit of David's video Britney is seen throwing the television out the window with the Orange Theory ad still on, which is being seen as a way of mocking the brand. EOS is also not pleased with how their product was integrated into the video.

So it all comes down to marketing unfortunately. Had they not used these brands to fund the project I'm guessing none of this would have spiraled out of control.

There's also whispers that Sony didn't like their TV being used to murder someone.

Meh, this seems to make a lot more sense. And if you think about it, the new version did seem very rushed and if Britney didn't like the original version and was uncomfortable they would've spent more time on doing another video.

tbh the only people that should be mad about the product placements should be sony because there tv was used to kill someone and maybe  iphone, bmw and the other preoducts used in the final video that didnt leak :mhm:

Hmm, something i don't get, if they did the products placement in the reshoot, how is it a problem for the original now ? I mean they don't have to show it anymore since it is on the other version right? Like photoshop the tv screen , and don't show the EOS part for example, imo the problem is just David because he may be stuck with his vision and doesn't want to edit/cut some scenes.

Anyway i don't even care about that version so not my problem if they find a way or not to release it. But y'all better calm down now tho because it's not Britney's nor her team's fault.

THIS MAKES SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH MORE SENSE TBH!!! If this is true and I'd bet it is.. I'm glad that all the rumors about Britney being uncomfortable were not true! She's been sexy this era and will continue to be because she's A HOT MAMA!!!! I really hope they are able to strike some kind of agreement and get it out!! All the anticipation from fans for it means it's sure to be a HIT video so the advertisers would be wise to just let them incorporate it however they want, because that amount of exposure is sure to sell their product regardless!!!! THAT BEING SAID I HATE PRODUCT PLACEMENT ON A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL NOW.. IT just went from ANNOYING TO PERSONAL!! lol :crying1::crying4::trollney::britdrown:

It's plausible I guess, but I'm not sure if I believe this. These companies would have known of the videos vision ahead of time, right? Before they bothered to sponsor it/allow them to feature their products. Unless they said one thing and filmed another. I think the truth is going to lie somewhere in  the middle of all these theories.

OMG these advertisers are fucking ridiculous, that's what happens when you use too much advertising on videos. Beyonce never has these problems cus she NEVER uses tacky advertising on her videos. I hope britney and her team learned their lesson, being cheap has so many consequences!

Ew at Beyoncé, but I somewhat agree. TTWE was product-placement free and both versions slayed! :bigtime:

If this is true, it seems they didn't like how their brand was being portrayed on the video and threatened to quit funding the video if they released it; therefore making them re-do the whole thing. :bkbye:

I was actually wondering about that! I'm like- isn't this kind of a statement *against* the brands? LOL. Like "FUCK this stupid Orange Fitness shit is on, fuck this TV, fuck this guy in the pool!"

Fuck product placement in videos. I think it's less about being cheap and more about being greedy, honestly. Not saying Britney is, but someone wants the exorbitant amount of money the brands must pay for a music video placement.

It's probably why the shitty products cost so much. EOS is cool but not 3 bucks a sphere cool.

Greeeedyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy oooh! You know that I'm greedy for love :oya:  [Ariana Grande song, just in case you didn't get it]

Yeah, they can perfectly pay for it without needing sponsors, but the more money they can get the better so... :displeased:

They needed product placement; the video was rumoured to be around $2M and the label payed for half.

I JUST HOPE THEY GET IT RESOLVED AND RELEASE IT!!! I mean now that we are pretty sure it didn't have anything to do with Britney being uncomfortable and since there is such fan outcry for it I hope that the label/advertisers/team B find a way to make it work!!! Product placement or not it's going to be a HIT VIDEO!!! They would be wise to release it!! :mhm: I mean if they don't it's just going to leak anyway!:britdrown:

i'm sure britney and her team could easily come up with the other half without using advertisers. At this point if they delete the advertisers from the video and release it, they would still need to pay that part. Toxic cost around $1million to make, so i don't see why they can't pay $2 million for a video?

what i hate the most is that the product placement is getting so ridiculous, like for example the EOS, ok Britney is just putting some lipgloss and thats it is not that bad, but the orange theory, what does a gym ad has to do with the song or the concept of the video, leave that to a song like work bitch :4music: and even there i think it would look stupid

I agree! I gym product placement was way out of place for this video and song!!! I mean if I had been a high energy dance track and the video was set at a gym.. then OK.. But it's just silly and annoying in the official version of the video. I wish they would try harder to have the product placement match the concept.. :mhm::thumbsup:

So basically everything was set for this video to be released then this happened so they had to rush make a new video to get a video out asap

So the drama is between the director and Sony?

And fuckers on here were blaming Brit :4music:
