I JUST HOPE THEY GET IT RESOLVED AND RELEASE IT!!! I mean now that we are pretty sure it didn't have anything to do with Britney being uncomfortable and since there is such fan outcry for it I hope that the label/advertisers/team B find a way to make it work!!! Product placement or not it's going to be a HIT VIDEO!!! They would be wise to release it!! :mhm: I mean if they don't it's just going to leak anyway!:britdrown:

isnt that what we said about the original videos for WB, perfume, and GM tho :selenerz:

i'm sure britney and her team could easily come up with the other half without using advertisers. At this point if they delete the advertisers from the video and release it, they would still need to pay that part. Toxic cost around $1million to make, so i don't see why they can't pay $2 million for a video?

Toxic cost $1M back in 2004 when record labels were throwing millions and millions of dollars at artists for pop campaigns. That's not the case anymore, not even close. For her team / RCA to have spent $2M on a video is insane. Work Bitch cost about $850,000 - this was more than double that, and three years later when labels are in much deeper decline. Videos aren't nearly as important as they were back in 2004, either. Or even 2013. Look at the visuals we're getting from Selena, Ariana, Demi, etc. You think labels are dropping big bucks on those? The need for constant product placement comes from teams not having enough $ in their label-approved budget to fund high-budget music videos: enter Sony, EoS, Orange Theory, etc.

true but how is Beyonce, Rihanna, and Gaga doing it? Both Rihanna and Beyonce's visuals are STUNNING and EXPENSIVE?

Gaga uses product placement; look at the Telephone video, it has Miracle Whip for Christ's sake. Not to mention Plenty of Fish (also in Britney's HAIM video), Virgin Mobile, Beats, etc. Rihanna's videos are stunning and expensive? Nnnnnnnn. You can't think that Work or Kiss it Better took much $ to produce? Needed Me had a high-quality director and some good visuals, but even that was just a few setups. Beyonce had a massive video budget for multiple reasons. One, there was nothing else to her campaign; she wasn't going out and promoting. The videos were the entire campaign, and she had already proven to her label through her last visual album that she'd give them a high return on their investment because people would eat it up. The fact that RCA allowed Britney's team to produce a video with a $2M budget after the disappointment of the last era shows huge confidence on their part, but there's no way they were going to pay all of that out-of-pocket.

Lol our company applied to them about product placement, and they never got back to us about cost.

Fucking idiots... our furniture would have fully suited the house... GRR

Search on Facebook: Haunt
if you want to see it

EDIT: And like what would happen if we did put our products there and the OTHER advertisers werent happy but we were lol... I'd love for Britney to have like smashed the furniture or like burned it or something. Fuck... Having the Queen of Pop smashing your product in a rage is epic!

I knew this wasn't another "they don't want Britney to be so sexy" or "I'm a mum now" because it just wouldn't make sense to me! It sucks that such a stupid thing caused so much drama, I feel like they could've easily found a way to fix this, it's just a matter of the director and the label, the brands or whatever talking to each other idk.

It does seem pretty ridiculous but then again the rumors about Team Britney hearing about fans being displeased with the MV and releasing a song a week seem to be coming true.

So at least they are listening to fans for once.

Fuck Sony. I knew it was gonna be bad when Brit renewed with them again. They really don't appreciate having Britney on their roster. I am so annoyed at them being so freaking cheap and not funding the entire video. If Jive did that shit in 2004 with Toxic Britney wouldn't be half as successful. Music videos still matter big time especially considering how much streaming counts for charts and how much videos can be monetised with Vevo.

Britney is a catalog artist. She thrives on long term catalog sales/streams everyone knows that. Her music and videos don't just die out she has really good longevity. Her best-of albums still chart on iTunes and she has more youtube views of any of her generations's artists (JT, Pink etc.).  Sony need to realise this and invest properly. Her videos are an integral part of her legacy and they need to be good not laced with Bright Orange PP for a freaking gym

I really hope it wasn't another 8 album deal and she'll up with UMG after this one expires.

Damn product placement! Why can't it be the years of when the artist just released their videos with their own money and not product placement money! But this does make allot more sense as to why the version we got is the version we got.

Its something I never really understand, Why do they need to use product placement in the videos! Like people say Britney is earning money in Vegas etc and the only vid she has really done since Britney Jean era has been Pretty Girls, Surely she would have enough pennies to fund this MV without having to use product placement. This does make allot of sense tbh and I can understand the Sony TV Pool gate haha

Why does everything have to get over annalised all the time, Its like in future horror films they wont be able to use a certain knife as it may effect badly on that manufacture of knife.. Like its common knowledge that if you throw a TV in a pool it wont end well? Its not like its portraying a floor/issue with the product that the GP were unaware of...

Hmm, something i don't get, if they did the products placement in the reshoot, how is it a problem for the original now ? I mean they don't have to show it anymore since it is on the other version right? Like photoshop the tv screen , and don't show the EOS part for example, imo the problem is just David because he may be stuck with his vision and doesn't want to edit/cut some scenes.

Anyway i don't even care about that version so not my problem if they find a way or not to release it. But y'all better calm down now tho because it's not Britney's nor her team's fault.

Probably because Sony(the brand devision not the label even tho its relate) paid a lot of money towards the video and they don't want their logos or any of their products to be seen in the final version. That means for her to get the final version of the original cleared they'd have to go back and reshoot anything featuring the product. It's probably cheaper to just reshoot a new video in a day then to bother with paying the crew and the post production team to go back and refilm it.

Now all that being said what her team could have done was instead of doing a fullout new music video, used BTS footage in a retrospective that would have shown her journey since the beginning til now intercut with a performance shot of her singing the song. That would have been nice and sentimental. But oh well, its the business.

I think the point of being on a record label is they pay for the recording process and filming of music videos.  If Britney wanted to be an independent artist, she would have to pay for everything up front, which would be risky since there's no guarantee of return on investment.  That being said, if this is indeed true, this is a tough predicament.  Britney has relied upon big budget videos for her career and unfortunately now corporate sponsors are the only way to continue this.  I highly doubt Britney or most major artists would ever pay 1-2 million dollars for a music video, who knows if she would even be allowed to.

Because people don't buy albums anymore, labels dont have as much money as they used to and need product placement to help pick up the cost of making video and an artist almost never pays for their own video, unless they have a production company or something.

there must be a lot we haven't seen of the original video yet, because there's no way that video could cost 2M $... maybe the bulldozer scenes?

I think it would have been the bulldozer scenes. I'm sure they had to buy the house. Nobody is just going to let you wreck a perfectly good house with a bulldozer without buying it. That would definitely cost more than renting places or filming them in studios like is usually done for filming music videos. So that would be the cost of everything a music video requires, plus renting a bulldozer, plus buying a house... I can see it costing $2 mil.

This is why people shouldnt product place anymore :mhm:

Also REALLY BRANDS?!?!? YOU SHOULD JUST BE HAPPY BRITNEY AND HER TEAM ARE ALLOWING YOU THE HONOR OF BEING IN THE VIDEO!!!

In the new one I didn't even know the TV said Sony on it until someone pointed it out, and we can say that throwing a TV with orange fitness was a workout routine :mhm: And does EOS really need placement? :zoomzoom: Everyone uses it :4music:

Drama Drama Drama, just get rid of product placement.

Spoiler

I'm at least happy beats wasn't there :mhm:

:reductive: Tea Spilled!

I still hope they find a way to agree on getting it released tho!!! I mean so much of it has leaked already that I'd bet the odds of the full thing leaking if they don't officially release it are pretty high! Especially with the high demand from fans.. I mean that petition already has like 15K sigs :mhm:

Why would they pay an entire video tho ? Do i need to remind you that we're coming from a flop era and with momney and lazyney at her best? Britney isn't selling anymore. If at least she would have made some effort and promo last era to save it, or show some interest , that she wants some success or even that she cares just a little for the album but she didn't. That is the result she gets. Sony is doing business, not charity. Just because it's Britney, if an artist doesn't care, doesn't want to promote, doesn't sell a lot etc. they won't pay millions for videos or other things. It's that simple. Before Sony invest a lot in her , Britney has to prove herself again and show that she worth it. So far she seems like she had a reality check, she's motivated, she's even promoting so that's amazing , now let's just hope it will have some kind of success (and that why y'all also need to stop your meltdowns over that fucking video and stream the one we have even if you think it's shit.)
