I think its performed disappointingly.

I think a different video for the song would have helped the song chart top ten.

But when I first heard it I only ever imagined it would peak around #12 on the BB Hot 100 I see my predictions weren't too far off.

As a fan I'm here for good material from Britney and thankfully she delivered with "Make Me..."

I'm just hoping for an album full of mid-tempo sex jams with some introspective shit (it'd be nice to hear 1 or 2 songs from Britney that are personal)

If you like and are enjoying the song, why does it matter if it's a "flop"?

Well I'm sure some just want "bragging rights" or smth, but the way I see it is her flopping could ultimately it could have a negative effect on her career if the label no longer see her as an artist worth putting in effort for. Her team are already cheap enough as it is. That, or they will end up intervening too much, taking away her creative control again and forcing her to record more generic soulless crap because it's a guaranteed money maker.

I think it performed well(not amazing) chart wise, the critics like it and like the music video, it gets a lot more airplay than I've heard since 2010/11. To me that doesn't constitute a flop. With the fickleness of chart performance and the fact that boring and generally maligned songs can be "hits" by charting standards, I think it takes more than not being #1 to constitute a flop. Just my personal opinion.

She's a legacy artist who has earned her keep, the label did re-sign her remember that. They know times are different and they're probably not as hard on her as you think they could be. As long as she's still being discussed in the media, still has fans and still has people coming to see her show, they're good with her chart performance. I feel like this song has stayed in the top 20 or 30 longer than the last lead, and I'm sure once she performs at iheartradio, the radio will play her more than they are now. So to answer no Make Me is not a flop.

Well, what exactly were you expecting?  At this point, I think it would be hard for her to get a massive hit - she doesn't appeal to tweens that much anymore, and her older fan base doesn't have time to obsess over her chart positions anymore....and unless she does something that REALLY excites her non fans (think "Toxic"), this is the future for Britney.  Also, the promo was almost non-existent - no tv appearances or performances - whatever the reasons for that are - it is what it is.

Britney continues to remain stuck in between the Katy Perry/Taylor Swift scene and a more mature persona - she needs to just let go of the cute stuff and move on - that's the only thing that might help.  But, perhaps she likes her image - well, ok then - nothing we can do about it.  From what we've heard from "Glory", so far so good but the video for "Make Me" was two steps backwards - again, with the cute giggling girls - that's not appealing anymore for some of us.

If you like the music - just enjoy it - she's doing well so far with her new music - the direction is better that what we got from "Britney Jean".
