Now that we know Britney is performing at the VMAs, what does everyone think Glory will debut at?

Me personally, don't mind at all as long as the music is quality (which it will be) quality over quantity! But I'm still curious as to see what everyone thinks now that the Queen of the VMAs is coming to snatch weaves and show these basic bitches how a performance is done!

top #3 if the second single is solid w/ all the promo a 170,000+ debut. Which is solid and basically means she hasn't lost it - I think this album like its lead single will have longevity.

but she can go #1 if these 3 factors come into play:

1. The second single is amazing. If they released it before the album and it shoots up the charts and gets rave review.

2. Her performance at the VMA's makes headlines. If the performance is bad the buzz and hype will go down immensely.

3. She does radio interviews and/or promo on Ellen/a sit down interview with GMA for the album and has a magazine cover lined up for Sept. which she can announce the week of the album's release.

Of course this is all for the domestic release if she hopes to get anything internationally she'll have to "Work Bitch"

At best if all goes good 200,000-400,000 debut (70,000-90,000 of which will be digital) at worst 130,000-200,000 (60,000 digital)

Ugh, I have no idea, predicting sales and numbers is so hard because you never know with the GP and it seems like the competition will be tough, but I'd say that we at least have a top 3 debut assured. The sales should be decent considering that she's gonna have some great exposure during the release week and her streaming points have gotten much better since the release of Make Me, besides, the radio seems to be still giving some support to the lead single, which I'm sure will be much bigger once she performs at the VMA's an everything, so we'll see! Hopefully Glory outsells Britney Jean because the hard work they've been putting into that album deserves a reward :ilahvu:

#3 debut with 95K sales SPS.

You really think it will only do 95k in the US? (and you're adding streaming into that equation?)

Wow.

:gloria:

I read somewhere the album had 35k last week in digital pre-order sales I'm sure at worst it would go up to like 50k digital sales by the 28th and even if you assume its only going to sell 40k in physical copies - you're adding streaming to that number?!

I'd say you're really low-balling her and I wouldn't have said that last era. I mean its fine to curb expectations and be realistic but if she sells 90k SPS then I will be shocked. She sold 107k physical copies with Britney Jean and lets not all pretend we don't know why...

She's doing the VMA's to promote #Glory and I'm sure a radio interview or two the week of... there's no way in hell she can't clear 100k easily. I figure at worst she'll do BJ numbers 120k SPS first week - but 90k SPS...

You realise that Revival - with huge smash singles - only pulled 85K first week in pure sales? I know I shouldn't compare Britney to Selena but sadly in the current climate we have to be realistic. You are all setting yourself up for disappointment if you think she can top Britney Jean first week sales, general sales have decreased heavily since 2013. Even Rihanna's ANTI only did 166K first week and she's the biggest star on the planet right now and Work was sitting comfortably at #1 by then.

35K in preorders? Where did you read that? Sounds like something made up by a fan.

The Suicide Squad soundtrack is holding strong with their singles currently smashing iTunes so I'm assuming they'll remain steady around 100K by the time Britney's album is out, still enough to top it. Let's not even start on Florida Georgia Line cause they're unbeatable.

I think we all heavily overestimate the impact that the VMA's and Carpool will have on album sales. Sure, it'll help but let's not act like it'll pull in additional 30K in sales for it.

I can see where you're coming from ...but Selena hasn't ever had a mega successful album has she? Like beyond platinum? I know she's had some massive singles

And as for Rihanna that "Anti" promotional campaign and Tidal exclusivity hurt it bad.

I'm just saying Britney's VMA performance will be watched by everyone that I know because they may not be fans but everybody loves to see if she'll do it again.

I think if the performance is good or great it will help drive at least 30k-50k in extra sales.

but if its iconic like her previous i could see the album getting a good 80-100,000k boost in first week sales.

50K in additional sales... half of what Britney Jean managed to pull... all because of one performance? That shows how badly you overestimate its impact.

What impact?

For a performance we haven't even seen yet?

If anything Britney's proven her detractors wrong this year - oops!

you don't think if she made headlines like she did in her last iconic performance in 2003 it wouldn't help fuel sales?

In this day and age social media plays a bigger factor - even her detractors - of which she has many will help push her music and album into the forefront.

I think if she has a great 2nd single planned and if glory delivers ON top of a great VMA performance...??

Britney still has a lot of fans and audiences always buy into the hype machine - a great performance will make people "scream take my $!"

There are so many factors but after that amazing promo video I'm guessing this Performance will be the one everyone talks about

She's not dropping the second single before or at the VMAs so that's not even a factor towards first week sales...?
