Rate The 4 Songs We've Heard From Britney So Far This Era

04 Do You Wanna Come Over              ** 1/2 - Fun. Catchy but kind of played out. Feels like "Over To You Now's" and "Blackout's" long lost sister.

03 Private Show                                       *** - Love the production and the bridge, the only thing that hold it back are some of the vocals.

02 Make Me                                              *** 1/2 - a really solid mid-tempo number.

01 Clumsy                                                 *** 1/2 - feet-tapping, sexy mindless fun.

 

 

It's looking like DYWCO is gonna be single #2!

 

She performed it at POM tonight.

 

It's giving me serious Blackout/ITZ vibes and I feel like they are going to rush release it because of Make Me under performing.

But I also think it's the weakest that we've heard so far.

The production is good.

Her vocals in the verses are sexy .

 

But it brings nothing NEW to the table - it sounds current yes, but it also has elements of Justin Timberlake's "Like I Love You"(Which is dated...) and some random Tila Tequila myspace track.

 

I felt like all of the other 3 songs were all motown/R&b-Pop/Southern sounding - and all felt like they really worked together - DYWCO fits lyrically but sound-wise...its like a drunken ITZ track came and crashed a sexy grooved out party - I'm hoping DYWCO is the only one of its kind on Glory. (Not that I don't want a banger or up-tempo but its that I want something a little more creative or something that brings something new to the table sound-wise for Britney)

 

With "Do You Wanna Come Over" I feel like she's been down this route before and with far more better results.

 

Anyways still very excited for the album. I don't hate the track, it's just not a new sound for Britney, I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it, eh?

Do You Wanna Come Over 2/5 - Hate BG guys vocals, and song is more outdated now (maybe recorded in 2003?). Worthy for home listening. Two stars for her amazing vocals. 

Private Show 2/5 - Bad vocal mastering. They could to more zoom her voice into front and remove some sharpen effect.

Make Me 5/5 - amazing song and duet and vocals!

Clumsy 1,5 /5 - a bit weird and messy tbh.

Make me : 8/10 best song so far. I dont have anything to say, nothing out of the ordinary tho so that's why i wont give it a 9 or 10.

Clumsy : 6/10 good verses but the chorus is terrible imo. And the song overall in kinda messy.

Do you wanna come over : 6/10 again good verses but the chorus is bad. The guys vocals are annoying me. Britney's vocals are great tho, maybe the song with the best vocals from her so far, imo. But also, the song sounds dated. For whatever reasons it reminds me of Trouble for me, like it could have been a FF reject with elements from ITZ, i dont know.

Private show : 3/10, i like the instrumental but the vocals it's just no. I dont even listen to the song because of this.

Everyone I've played DYWCO thought it sucked. Like really bad.

 

The general comments about it were:

"Reminds me of her older stuff - sounds kind of old"

 

 

Then again most of the people I played Private show for didn't like her vocals but thought the instrumental was good.

 

Clumsy people said they liked the pre-chorus part but felt it was missing something.

 

Make Me most people said it was OK. (Is there anything worse than that?)

4º Clumsy 6'5/10: I like the song, but it doesn't "slay" me like the others, it's just a nice album track to jam to me, you know? But I don't feel like I'm desperate for it to become a single or anything.

 

3º Do You Wanna Come Over 7'75/10: I looooove the vocals on this song, they're straight out of In The Zone, which is my favourite album! Its vibe is also really interesting, it starts off sounding similar to Breathe On Me but then it gets crazy during the chorus, I love that! The guitars are also a nice touch, it gives it a groovy feeling. However, just like with Clumsy, I'd like this song to remain as an album track because I don't think it has the potential to become a strong single.

 

2º Private Show 8/10: I've loved this song ever since we heard the snippet on the perfume commercial, it's just so amazing to hear her confidence through her voice! What I love the most about this track is that Britney showcases her whole range in over 4 minutes, and it's so amazing that she challenged herself to really SING (in capital letters) after years of playing it safe.

 

1º Make Me 9/10: This is still my favourite song from Glory. Definitely her strongest single in a while! The vocals are clear and angelic, the production in the verses is very simple but effective and the chorus is just orgasmic! G-Eazy's verse doesn't feel out of place, it blends really well with the rest of the song, which is a plus since many raper/singer collaborations end up sounding very forced.

03 Private Show                                       3/5     -  I can't see why is this song  in the album, I like it, but vocals don't sound as I would like,
