Everytime Posted September 5, 2016 #1 Report Posted September 5, 2016 So happy Britney debuted at #3 and beat her previous album, Britney Jean, in chart position! congrats, Brit! I have a question about the charts... I swear it's not shady at all or hateful, so please don't make it out like that. It's a basic question. Who beat Britney on the charts, and what were their sales? P.S.- who beat Britney with Britney Jean? I've never gotten the answer to this! I believe Blackout was the Eagles, if I'm not mistaken. Plus some messed up chart rule change. :/
heather Posted September 5, 2016 #2 Report Posted September 5, 2016 In the US it was Barbra Streisand (who bundled her ticket sales with her album) and Florida Georgia Line, which is a country band and a very popular genre in the US. Also Garth Brooks (more country) beat Britney Jean, and I think One Direction and Kelly Clarkson? But I can't really remember.
Ricki Lake Posted September 5, 2016 #3 Report Posted September 5, 2016 Yes, Blackout was blocked from #1 because Billboard decided to allow store exclusive albums. The Eagles album was a Wal Mart exclusive and came out that same week. They're a popular band that has been around for decades, so their fan base is enormous. 1
HannahLou Posted September 5, 2016 #4 Report Posted September 5, 2016 In the UK Glory was #2 beaten by Barbra Streisand
