Where is the second single announcement?

I'm a little annoyed that she hasn't announced the 2nd single yet. She announced MM way back in June right? It's mid September already and nothing. The album has been out for 3 going 4 weeks! I know things are slightly different this time around so I'm being patient but it's a little confusing to me. I hope by the time we get to October we know what it will be.

Well, Make Me wasn't OFFICIALLY announced until the day before it was released on iTunes  

But yeah, I was hoping that by the time the iHeart Radio and iTunes festivals happened we'd have a second single out, so she could promote it abroad and everything! Hopefully they still promote hard when it's out, because this era is not dead yet, Glory still has a lot of potential

I wish she would release another.

Glory has gone from 3 to 12 on Billboard 200 while Barbara Streisand and Florida Georgia Line are still in the top 10 whereas Rihanna's 33 week and Beyonce's 20 week albums are also in the top 10. Glory is too good of an album to be suffering like this. It's received amazing reviews, especially on the return of her vocals (alive and sometimes unfiltered) alone. She has got to release a catchy, must-have song that will deliver new heights to this new defining era.

Fun facts - so far its her largest gap between 1st and 2nd singles...

with how album sales are and the fact they have no tour to back up the budgets, the failure of mm and how they said they blew their budgets on the original mm video.... A question that comes up is...Will there even be a second single ?

 

i mean they obvs saw even big promo doesnt work for her anymore so why would they waste anymore money on another video... Im just speaking from RCAs point of view...its a bussiness after all.

There will be a second single, it isnt a flop to the point to scrap it now, she made the same number as other current popstar, in that case everyone would be over.. The problem is they messed up with their "big" promo. They could have done things great instead it was wasted opportunity, as usual. The video (although i think it isn't a bad video) is simply not interesting, the VMA performance was basic, not wow at all unlike her award performances used to be and unlike what was advertised, absolutely not memorable and she didn't even performed her song in full like seriously ? Not even mentioning the fact that people were only talking mostly about the lipsyncing. The today show thing was just a -boring- pre recorded POM performance.. The carpool karaoke except for BOMT she sang 3 words and looked more uncomfortable than anything. The ellen thing was the same  without Ellen it would have been boring af,  she seemed uncomfortable, was barely talking and barely played the game. All the promo she did was just underwhelming, and i believe it actually hurt her more than helped her. She looked great, sexy and all but that's it and she cant just rely on that, especially coming from FF and BJ she has to step up her game. She has to rebuilt her image but also has to prove she still is a great entertainer,  and is no talentless unlike what people say,  but unfortunately she really doesn't help herself and only prove them right with what she does.

I just hope they will soon move on to the 2nd single with good promo this time to support it and encourage people to buy the album, because it's pretty clear MM isn't strong enough with or without promo, they have to let it go, the vma performance was its last chance and they missed it. Im hoping for the 2nd single to be released around the festivals.

I didn't put this up to start complaining about sales or promo. Personally I think her sales are good and the promo she's done is fine.  I'm just confused about the timing of the announcement of the second single. She doesn't have to film the video to announce the next single. Just wondering what the delay is.

There is no delay tho ? She didn't announce MM before it started to leak , it will probably be the same for the 2nd single, she'll mention it probably like 2 days before it's out. I don't really see the point to announce a single like weeks before it's out anyway.

To be honest I still hear Make Me everytime I turn on the radio. It's still doing well especially this late in the game. Team Britney knows when they release a second single Make Me will drop off of all charts and the new single will get moderate airplay until it falls quicker than Make Me. I think promoting it (second single) during the Apple Music Festival was their plan but I wouldn't release a new single just yet - give it a few more weeks

In my country (and many others) people don't even know she has a single. She needs to release a new single and amazing music video in time for the festivals

Yes but it's doing well in the states. Britney is not in her prime anymore so I think her team wants as much publicity as possible

I really hope they're in the process of picking one and this doesn't turn out like BJ era 2.0. I'm slightly worried because Glory is an amazing album and deserves to be treated like it is.

Ya'll like to rush....and not in the sense that the 2nd single isnt coming, but Make me is still being played on the radio like a lot, i havent heard Britney on the radio this much since 3 & TTWE tbh. I think they just want MM to keep raising its really a slow burner hit. Ill give it till iheart for an announcement if not then by October.

MM falling right now and in a few weeks the song will be worse with or without the festivals, it will probably rise a little but then fall like a rock. The VMAs was the biggest promo and it didn't help. If that didnt help, it's not festivals 3 months after its release who will. We arent going anywhere with MM. Y'all are saying since august that it will rise and it's grower hit, it's not. I like the song but clearly, MM is not strong enough and the video surely doesn't help it.

It's best to let it go and release a new single while there is still time to try to have a hit and while she still has some promo planned, instead of holding on MM while people are getting bored of it, and will forget about her and about the album and she wont have exposure anymore and the 2nd single will be just like perfume 2.0 in terms of flopage no matter what song it is.
