Hey! If this is already a thread, I will be happy to move this to there, but I didn't see it (though it is very possible I just passed it) so I am doing it here! I love to talk to everyone on this topic. Let's start the convo!

9. Britney Jean

This album sits at different places with all of the fans. Some love it, some pretend it doesn't exist. I don't think that this album should be ignored, but it is in my view her weakest effort by a long shot. The album is overall very unfocused and tries to be too much all at once. There are glimpses of brilliance in it, but it is sadly buried quickly after appearance. This album was marketed as Britney's most personal, but I disagree. This album doesn't feel like Britney and I feel like the record company and the crew meddled with the album too much. I doubt this is what she wanted with this album. The album is very filler heavy as well, which makes for some hard listening. The album isn't easy to get through, and some of the songs feel very thrown together. Is it the worst album ever made? Of course it isn't. Not even close. Is it the most hard to enjoy Britney album? Yes, indeed.

8. ...Baby One More Time

This album is a product of it's time. It was aimed at the teenage demographic which is far from picky about their music. The lyrics are incredibly silly, but they are honestly supposed to be. This record is very fluffy and peppy and kept light for its target audience. There isn't really any musical rule breaking on the album, which makes it a tad boring, but for what it is and what it was trying to accomplish, it did well for itself. It is easy to tell which songs were fathead as singles from the get go. The non-single album tracks don't sound as if they got as much attention in the studio as the singles. Looking back on this album, you can see just how dated it is. Tracks like "E-Mail My Heart" are cute but really funny to listen to in 2016. The album isn't bad, it is just not as good or enjoyable as what was to come in her later career.

7. Circus

I wanted to love this album so much. I gave it so many chances and listened to it with so many different approaches and every time, it left with me with a few minutes of satisfaction and great music but then ultimately left me overall bored. The album set itself to have an amazing concept. An entire album following the circus theme would have been amazing, but this premise is abandoned on all but a few tracks. There was so much potential even in the lyrics of the bad songs, they were just musically done so poorly. But when the highs of the album it their highest, they were amazing. The toughest part about this album is that it had so much room to be so amazing and incredibly exciting. Sadly, it was just mishandled and became too detached from it's starting and amazing premise.

6. Ooops!... I Did it Again

Crafting a successful sophomore album s hard to do. But Britney did it, and she managed to do it very well. The album flows so smoothly and sounds so fresh and new even today. The only downside of the album is the downside of her first album. It still has a very juvenile quality of lyrics and instrumentation. But, somehow (if this makes sense)...it is juvenile but mature juvenile. It is a mixture of the same sound of BOMT with the progressive sound that took over in the early 2000's. It is clear that the album's tracks were formulated for large dance spectacles of songs. The songs are mostly all hits (though they slack significantly toward the last fourth of the album). The album was very much a transition for Britney and is not a bad effort.

5. Glory

This is by far the most hyped album that Britney has had. And it is for that reason that some have such middle of the road reactions to Brit's ninth studio album. Personally, it isn't my favorite and I think it is actually more disgruntled and confused than Britney Jean. The key difference is one word: consistency. The album manages to keep up with itself and finish what it starts, which is deserving of praise. The lyrics to the album are honestly pretty great (some of her best) and the sleekness of the sound is very entertaining and makes for very easy listening. My complaint is Britney's vocal change being so evident. It feels as if she is restricting herself too low for too long on the album, not really allowing herself anything fun and interesting compared to the other albums. The album can cross into the lines of boring sometimes, but it manages to become very aware of itself and a solid effort, especially for the hardcore type of production this album had.

4. Britney

This is the album where Britney found her mature side. She stopped being afraid of not wanting to display sexuality and stopped being the quiet good girl. She really let herself have control on this album, and it shows much more that it is something she is truly invested in. This is very much her empowering record and the one that made herself comfortable being Britney. She wanted to push people's buttons on this album, and she did. She managed to piss parents off and get people talking. But she took it all in stride. The production of the album is incredible. The structure of the album makes for one of the most complete and easy listening experiences in her discography. This album laid foundations for the following three masterpieces.

3. Blackout

To have been released in the middle of such an infamous and dark time in her life, Britney really managed to hit this home run head on. She knew what she was doing and it shows. She wasn't looking to do anything more than put her feet in the waters of new pop. She learned a lot from her previous albums and really applied her knowledge into this one. The lyrics aren't outstanding, but it is easily made up for by the retro house throwback sound of the album. The album never lets itself go out of control and keeps itself very based in reality. It wasn't about display of bells and whistles, but about creating an experience that makes the listening worth while.

2. Femme Fatale

I don't understand now, I didn't understand then, and I won't ever understand why people dislike this album so much. This album is literally her most ambitious project, capturing so many different sounds and snapshots. Britney became very in sync with the popular music of the time and really used the amounting rise of more trance house music to her advantage. Yes, some of the songs are stupid, but overall...it can be forgiven. The album never once takes itself as super serious. It enjoys having fun with itself. The album's tracks are all pretty memorable and give an experience that Britney hadn't really thrown our way before. You have to pay attention to this album and if you can't, then that is probably why you don't like it.

1. In the Zone

In my view, this is when Britney reached her peak. Every song on the album is so well written, produced, and executed. There isn't a total dud on the album and it really shows the lengths of growth Britney made between OIDIA and ITZ.  It is easy to tell she worked hard for ITZ and that each song was treated as if kit was her last. She managed to craft an entertaining pop album with of the sexiest bangers out there. The album is so sexy and is actually very personal in my eyes. The album sounds like a no holds barred account of her personal thoughts. It feels very much the product of her wants and desires and cleaned the fog off of the windows that clouded her immense talent in crafting amazing pop records.

I agree with most of the write-ups, if not the rankings. Agree completely on the ranking and order of 6-9. But my top 5 would change a bit: 1) Blackout, 2) Femme Fatale, 3) Glory, 4) In The Zone, 5) Britney. 1 and 2 flip flop quite often for me, but I do think they're more complete in sound than Glory is. For ITZ, while I like Shadow and Brave New Girl, that's where the album started to fall off track for me whereas I feel the first 3 flow so well.

Fantastic post, you flawless fan. :D

I rank them exactly the same! And I also sometimes like Blackout the most, sometimes Femme Fatale, so they share my #1 spot

YAASSSS love it when people put ITZ as their favourite. It's definitely her most all round album in terms of lyrics, production and vocals. ;)

9. Baby One More Time
Might be amazing and the bible of pop, but it is way too short for my liking. The lyrics are really good and the production is lovely BUT the lenght kind of ruins it for me. It could've been way more solid with a few more tracks and of course keep a few R&B ballads like Luv The Hurt Away.
8. Britney
It was her change. Her transition. Good enough for my likings, but at some times it gets a little bit repetitive which I dislike a lot. The fact that it was mixed with the Crossroads soundtrack seems to have been the reason it isn't that good... The unreleased tracks are way better than some of the released ones.
7. Blackout
Yes! It is an amazing album, but nothing really impressive. The production is the highlight but it isn't as urban as everyone makes it out to be. Her vocals are a bit off in some of the songs and I don't enjoy that much the over-over-over-sexualized lyrics. And that's pretty much what Blackout is about. There's a lack of ballads as well.
6. Britney Jean
An amazing and solid EDM album. Again, the main issue of this album is that it is too repetitive and short as well. I'd rather have 3:00 songs that are pretty much enjoyable than 4:00 songs that repeat the same the whole time. I find it annoying how the bonis tracks are better than the rest of the album
5. Circus
Breaks my heart to put it in this place. But the other ones are JUST THAT good. It is pop perfection, deep lyrics, amazing production and smooth vocals. What else can be asked for? The Circus theme was really great followed
4. Oops I Did It Again
This is the right spot. This album is made out of BOMT outtakes but still sounds way better than it. What a flop team she has...
3. In The Zone
Now this is a special album for me. That time when music used to be more urban overall and controversy was all over Brit's life. Ahh, the good old times. This album pretty much represents what Britney was feeling and how sexy she was then
2. Femme Fatale
As much as I love the album, I SO HATE PUTTING IT IN #2. Dubstep perfection, right production, fun lyrics, club bangers all the way, powerful ballads... I hate saying there's a flaw. I love the robotic effect on her vocals. But done so much... It ends up seeming like she can't sing. Such a damn shame...
1. Glory
Well this is pretty much the album I can't complain about. The promo sucks, I agree. It flopped, I agree. But te album itself is an experience. I only skip one annoying song that gets on my nerves. Whoa, that's hard. I normally skip like 4-5 songs on each album... It is very fluid in my opinion
