Everyone has different opinions on what Britney's best singles are. Here is my personal 10.

10. Perfume
I don't really understand why this song doesn't really get any attention. It is one of the best songs on Britney Jean and is the most Britney song on the album. The song's production is great and her voice sounds much less processed. The lyrics are this songs strongest point and makes the song incredibly enjoyable.

09. Sometimes
Easily my favorite song from the first album. The song is incredibly sweet and was the first hint that we got of Britney not being afraid to allow us an inside look into her heart. Though this wasn't the only ballad or even the most heartfelt ballad on the album, but it has unmistakeable character and a great insight to the feeling of first love that we all have and are familiar with.

08. My Prerogative
It is so dodgy to do a cover, do a cover as a single, AND do cover as a single and have it done well. But Britney did it. TWICE. But this was her best one. The original version of this song by Bobby Brown is honestly not one of my favorites. But Britney was able to come in and add her instantly recognizable flavor to the song, but still maintain it's jazzy pop vibe. The track is very slinky and sexy and she manages to craft an incredible and very danceable track.

07. Me Against the Music (featuring Madonna)
This was a match made in heaven. The princess of pop teaming up with the undisputed Queen of Pop Madonna was the greatest idea of the modern music era (Fun fact, this wasn't written as a duet. Britney played Madonna a portion of the song back stage at the VMA's. Madonna loved the song so much that she asked Britney to be featured on it to which Britney VERY enthusiastically said yes). The song is incredibly entertaining and displays some fun word play on Britney's point. The chorus is one of her most rousing and memorable and the trip hop beat is infectious.

06. Make Me... (featuring G-Eazy)
The best lead single she has had since Me Against the Music doesn't disappoint! We heard something very new and different from Britney on this song. She isn't trying to do any vocal gymnastics and keeps herself within her normal range, but what is most impressive is the conviction in her voice. She lets you know that she is in charge and that Britney was back. She doesn't waste her time here on this track and demands your attention. Britney is at her most sleek and forceful through this song.

05. I'm A Slave 4 U
This song shocked a lot of people when it came Britney. She had always flirted with sexual topics, but never had she been so up front about sexual topics before. Naturally, the song caused a media circus. And boy did everyone love it. The song is just so frickin' sexy and oozes charisma appeal. Britney sounds very sultry on this track, but a lot of it's strength lies in the funky drum beats behind her. The chorus is one of the sexiest parts of the song (that harmony is just yaz baby). This song will be remembered fondly by all.

04. Circus
This song was my jam for the year of 2008. This was Britney really getting a grasp on the shift in the music landscape. It was a big gamble for her to release a new song after the somewhat muted reception of Blackout, especially coming back with a very unfamiliar sound. Thankfully, Britney was able to do that with Womanizer, but many questioned if she could carry another tune with this newer sound. Well she did and she did it better than Womanizer. Circus is a song that shouldn't have worked. The lyrics are a bit cheesy and don't completely match with the music. But that is what actually made this song work so well. The song presents an interesting concept that I think personally should have flowed through the whole album (I think the entire record should have carried a circus/freak show theme). But as a stand alone, this song is very well made and she sounds very comfortable with the song. She seemed to be more into the recording of this song more so than the others on the album.

03. Criminal
This song gets no attention from fans or Britney! It has never gotten a performance and it is so ignored among a majority of the B-Army. This song is so danceable and carries stunning instrumentation, imaginative lyrics, and vocally the best performance on Femme Fatale (an album that gets hated on which is something I don't understand) and she is having so much fun with it. It was very original to include the flute in a mainstream pop single. Not to mention the video was Britney's short film! It is possibly the most well made song Britney has released. The vocal effects don't distract you from the song at all. The instrumental isn't more prevalent than her vocals and her vocals aren't more prevalent than the instrumental. It is incredibly balanced and there is really no shift in the sound of the song and it remains constant and consistent. It finished what it starts and it is one of her greatest and most underrated works.

02. Break the Ice
Another one that gets overlooked. And why? All of the people that complain about Blackout not being Britney should love this song because it is SO Britney. It is totally something she would do. Had it been on Oops! or Britney, it would be hailed as a masterpiece which isn't fair. This song is so infectious and is such a damn ear worm. You hear it and it is stuck in your head for hours. Britney knows how to make a dance track and this is one of the best examples of that. It is so easy to dance and just completely be lose yourself in this song. Yes, the lyrics are a little cartoony but who cares?! This is Britney doing Britney and not taking no for an answer. If Piece of Me is the f-you song, then this is the middle finger to match.

01. Everytime
What, you were expecting Toxic? Everytime is Britney's most beautiful, personal, raw, emotional, and devastating track. It came from way out in left field in the scheme of the album In the Zone and the two proceeding singles released to radio. Britney is strong and this is her admittance to Justin not being the only one to blame for the breakup. It was so adult of her to admit to this, especially on a song. Britney wasn't recording this song to score a number one or critical acclaim, she was writing it because she needed to. This was her therapy in dealing with the tribulations of the previous year. You can feel every ounce of her sweat and tears went into this song. She created a simple song with the most complex message and content of her career. This song showed everyone that she was more than ...Baby One More Time and that she was a woman and that she didn't need anyone to speak for her. Absolutely beautiful song, from a very beautiful woman.
