Pretty Girls had more success than Britney Jean by far. It was on the radio more than Work Bitch + Perfume, streaming was better than most of BJ, etc. I actually don't mind Pretty Girls as much as Britney Jean. 

 

Pretty Girls didn't do well but it wasn't really a flop either. It didn't do well on Billboard but did well by getting its name out there and making a summer anthem.

It had mediocre success, and many deemed it as a Fancy rip off and unoriginal and it by no means was the summer anthem it tried so hard to be. Work Bitch was a bigger hit overall

I agree with this but I'm just saying that PG is not the reason Team Britney shifted gears.
