I mean, it's 2016, and after how much she's progressed in the last years I feel like that statement is very unfair. I get that when you compare her current performances to the Onyx Hotel tour or the 2001 VMA's it's obvious that she's not on that level anymore, BUT that doesn't mean that she's bad now, in fact she's still one of the best performers out there. Why do you think she's always compared to Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez? Shouldn't the fact that she's compared to the other greatest performers of the current pop landscape tell us something? Sure, her choreography some times doesn't do her justice, she's capable of doing much more complex routines, but it's just beyond me how someone, after watching this:

Or this:

would say that she's stiff, robot-like, or uninterested when she's serving energy, fierceness, confidence, hot moves AND she's having fun. I don't know, what do you think about this?

I can't speak for the others, but at least I think that she still is a talented dancer and I'm sure many others here agree with me and you!

She's great at what she does to put on a show and you get a feeling of awww just seeing her live :D

Mmm, there's just parts where she needs to pick up her feet and be fluid and not too fast, idk how to explain it but that's the only flaw I see in my opinion

I think it's the choreography TBH :mhm: it's not as intense as it used to be. She obviously can do her old dances (BBMA, VMAS, etc) but her choreographers just like arm stuff :lmaolol:

I agree. When my friend saw her performance on the Jonathan Ross Show, my friend who is not a fan but respects Brit, wasn't impressed.  Was hard to say much, she said she was expecting more, plus the out of sync lip syncing didn't help.  Brit can SLAY...But the MM choreography is not showcasing that, I know it's a mellow song, but people expect to be WOWED by her.

But anyone who sees/saw her SLAY on her POM show, knows BRITNEY CAN DANCE and be on point with fast paced routines.

TBH, yeah MM is slow and you can't dance to it, she needs an upbeat Glory song to prove to people she still has it :mhm:

as  a Britney fan I can tell you the difference between now and then...her upper body and her facial expressions are not sharp but that's due to her age... her boobs are bigger, her upper body is bigger, her hair has tons of stuff attached to it so its pretty normal for her to not go insane waving her hands or do backflips like she did when she was 21... Beyoncé's upper body is not quick either.

now why do people say she's a bad performer ?

because non fans don't look at dancing like they did 15 years ago

apparently now a good performance is all about singing even if you stand in one spot for 5 minutes like Adele...that would be an 'iconic performance'

I don't know why people care to see such a boring show... especially now that nobody even pays for music, why do they care if they sing or not ?

I guess were just 90s kids

I agree. I don't like her new choreography, I don't think it could be performed any better than Britney does it, and it just doesn't do her talent justice.

I must say that MTV VMA 2007 performance more slayed me than POM. Idk right, she was more personal in the past about dancing, now it is just..dancing....

Check for example her BOM performance for TV back in 2003.....

I think the GP, or most people I know, show no sympathy for Britney after her ups and downs.

And whenever Britney puts out something new, they would just say that, oh, how she was crazy and something like that.

I don't think they know how difficult it is for someone to get back up when they fall in front of the public eye.

I agree with you! Those peoole should just learn that Britney has changed and is a better person now. I really hope that there will be a day like that!

Yes!

And when I talked about how I fell in love and am still in love with Britney. People around me wouldn't understand.

They would say: But she's fat.

me: *facepalm'd*

Britney is the only person I would put so much time and love in because I know her story (as we are told) from the beginning to now.

I guess people who don't spend time understanding Britney won't ever comprehend our love towards Brit

I know that feel! My friends wouldn't understand why I like Britney. In fact, they would probably even be angry at me. That's why I've had to keep it a secret. But maybe one day, when they're more mature I'll tell them. Untill then I'll just have to live with this secret.

Wow, that's really unfair, why would your friends be mad at you just because of your music preference? You shouldn't need to hide it like it's some dirty secret! I don't mean to be rude, but your friends shouldn't feel entitled to judge the music that you like, you're free to listen to whoever you want to :)

I know right? But they just listen to different types of metal and absolutely hate pop. I still don't judge them though and this sittuation feels pretty unfair, because I haven't done anything that would justify their behavior. But anyway, thanks so much for your support! I really hope that they will grow up one day and accept that people have different tastes of music.

she is a good performer....but all of us know she can do it quite better than she does. She's now a bit lazy, it seems that she only want to do the minimun to satisfy, she doesn't put her soul in her dance, she hasn't passion, she only make the performs becuse that's her job, she enjoys very little with it.

And  her choreos are based in arms movement....and that's boring.

She's not bad but not the best either, she's more basic now imo. Her performances just arent that entertaining anymore. No matter how energy she puts into it or how happy she is, there is something missing.

First the fact that she's basically walking and moving her arms most of the time, she doesn't have real and full choreo anymore.(and the little moves she has arent done properly, she lacks of fluidity big time, and most of the time she's too fast) On top of that she's lip syncing so it doesn't help. But most important imo she doesn't have the charisma she once had when she was on stage, she's not really into her character anymore, like she's always smiling, doing goofy faces or weird facial expressions, things like that, instead of really being into the song and put her soul into it, and that's what really is missing to me. I dont know if you see what i mean.

This. A million times this.

A lot of her performances is her skipping from one side of the stage to the other. I don't think the choreo is the problem (although her execution and fierceness could be slightly better), it's what she does in between pieces of choreo is the problem. Back in performances like these:

even in between pieces of choreo it was hard to take her eyes off her. I dont know if you guys are understanding, but for example in the slave video above at 1:15 she's simply walking back to the main stage, but It's still so hard to take her eyes off her; she's got fierce facial expressions and it's obvious she's become a slave to the music:wink1:. Compare that with the Gimme More video (posted by OP) at 1:06 she skips towards the centre stage; now I get that she might have to do that to get there quicker but I've noticed her do it in a lot of her performances recently and sometimes a fierce, serious catwalk is what's needed to show that just because she's not doing any planned choreo, she's still in the performance.

Now I know it's not fair comparing performances from 1999-2003 with performances from now, but the reason people are saying she's a bad performer is because they've all seen her iconic VMA performances from before and all the other ones in between so they automatically think that Brit's still got it in her. Does she really? dunno tbh. But I think she needs to brush up on her fierceness, execution and actually becoming a slave to the music. I get that it's cool to see her pulling goofy faces and stuff while she's performing, but it's that fierceness and losing herself while she's performing is what's missing.

After saying all this, her performances are only getting better and better. She's doing more complex choreo and her energy is there, she's just got to work on the little things that make her performances complete, and not just "a piece of choreo" "skip around a bit" "another piece of choreo" "skip to another side of the stage". It's the fluidity of the performances she needs to work on, and from there the performances can only go up.

She already doesn't love her job.  She's definetely fed up of her pop-star life and job.

I'm sure she only continues releasing albums and making shows because she needs the money to afford her way of life, and cause she can't be a "normal" anonymous person anymore.

THe lack of passion and feelings in what she does can be sensed  by the audience, and that's why she seems boring and doesn't transmit the energy of the past instead of her choreos sometimes are good.
