PERFUME ORIGINAL STORY

So, fans had a meltdown with the released perfume MV cause it did not include scenes from the photos that we saw (like the kssing scene and Britney shooting a bitch). what do you think is the original story for the mv.

 

Heres what I think:

  I think Cindy was just a character made up in Britney's mind out of paranoia thinking that his boyfriend was cheating on her. I think the part where she shot the other girl (Cindy) was supposed to be portrayed as a twist and show that there really was no other woman and that it was just herself that she shot after all because of being too paranoid.

Come to think of it, your idea makes so much sense. We've all seen the pictures of Brit holding up a gun, and Joseph Kahn said somewhere once that the original direction for the Perfume vid tackled the idea of self-sacrifice. Now, it would be rather stupid for Britney to just shoot herself, so Cindy can have all the D. So...BLACK SWANEY

If you are right, going at the worry that is the heart of the song and doing it in a way that highlights the mental health issues apparent in Black Swan could have freaked Britney out. Matt Z heavily implied that it was really Britney who pulled the video. I can see why actually seeing herself suffer from Mental health issues could freak Britney out compared to reading the concept and doing the acting. The directer implied that Britney would have been very brave if she released this video and I can see why if this idea was the case.

I disagree...she saw Cindy's number so I think she is real, but maybe some of the scenes are her imagination

 

when she describes the album as personal, I think she may be suggesting an uncomfortable dynamic in her relationship w Jason

moreso than her just being paranoid

 

besides, she wouldn't just be some neurotic paranoid for no good reason...plenty of romantic relationships deal w Such a Classic Tale

 

also, Cindy must be real because of the ex-gf... current girlfriend, lines

 

the gun is the breaking point of her jealousy, how far does she go with it...maybe she imagines killing some bitches and thats the gun scene...but we know by the lyrics she chose trust and love at the expense of her sanity, so in desperation she sprays perfume

 

it's a powerfully sad and vulnerable sentiment tbh
