It could have been asked in a better way than comparing her to someone who also wasn't singing live, which is the whole point I was trying to make. I have no interest in looking any farther into tinashe, she bores me to tears.

Some ppl just don't know how to word it properly but I get where he was coming from. Tinashe sounded great when she was singing regardless whether she lipped some & he was just curios as to know how Britney sounds. I didn't sense negativity from him at all

I think she can sing and is talented, but when left to her own devices live on stage?  :uhno:

I'm all for lip-synching as long as they are pre-recorded and not studio enhanced ones ripped right from the CD. But here we are.  Britney gets called out on her excessive lip-synching not because she "isn't trying to fool anyone" but because she is simply bad at it.  She misses cues, never lips her ad-libs, or completely mimes away to vocals that aren't even her's. There's truly an art to it, look up any Janet Jackson performance because that woman knows how to lip-synch for her life.  Every pre-recorded inhale & vocal tick is matched to perfection with no hesitations (she also does sing her ballads and occasionally uses her mic to actually sing when convenient), it's a practice Britney hasn't mastered despite being synonymous with the word.   She lips because she knows she can't replicate her songs live without struggling, even when stationed in one spot to sing a ballad is a problem.

Her team does care about the lipping criticisms, we've been told she's had formal vocal training over the years, specifically for her shows in Vegas, flat-out denials from Britney herself, and weak justifications from her management about how "impossible" it is for her to sing & dance simultaneously.   From '00-'03, correct, but not from '09'-beyond.   I think fans have been very reasonable & understanding, some are happy with just a line delivered live, but there's a big reason why most fans are embarrassed to publicly call themselves fans: her lip-synching. She is looking her best and delivering the best music she has in years, but what good is all that if she can't deliver it live?  It's a real stickler from both stans and the general public, especially now more than ever.

This! like why are you lipping to the deep voice in womanizer and the faded vocal affect after the breakdown, why are you lipping to the "oooo ooo oooo oo ooo oooooo" in slumber party. Honestly what Britney needs is to be in the studio TRAINING point blank period. She needs to learn her body again, stop the skipping it looks kiddish, she needs to stop lipping during the chorus use that time to dance and sing the verses. So much work needs to be done. I like Chase and all but he is NOT a creative director and he's kinda mediocre in the choreography department. GREAT dancer but coming up with great choreo is not his thing it seems. Charm is cool but she's not INVESTED in Britney, she's juggling multiple projects and she works with Revolt as a personality sooooo she can get the axe for 2017. Get a choreographer who is going to focus on remolding Britney and not recycling moves. And she needs a new production and creative team period. She HONESTLY needs to bring back Kevin from ITZ era or work with JaQuel Knight, Sean Bankhead, I'd love for her to experiment with Parris Goebel maybe, I wanna see her work with Luam, Hollywood, WADE again. Just diff people with FUNKY styles

It truly boggles my mind how bad she is at something she should be a pro at.  I also think Britney's level of commitment & enthusiasm are major factors as well, I think her dance routines for the most part are okay, it's just her conviction while doing them is simply not there, IMO.  But, yes, she absolutely is in dire need of a new creative team. :bigtime:

Her inner circle too has done her a huge disservice and haven't adapted well with the times at all, they're still operating in a world where Britney is deemed "The Most Powerful Celebrity" on Earth. Larry's foolishness in general I've had enough of, this is a man I wish wouldn't speak because every single time he does it's a complete and total contradiction.

Okay, guys. I posted this before but gonna said it again:

Britney had pre-recorded vocals in some songs at POM until the revamp:

1. Work Bitch (I think they are still there)

2. Womanizer (gone)

3. Me Against the Music at parts (they are still there)

4. Gimme More (gone)

5. Piece of Me (gone)

6. Freakshow (they are still there)

7. Do Something (IIRC and gone IIRC too)

8. Stronger (gone)

9. Crazy (gone)

10. Till The World Ends (gone)

Who gives a f*ck about stan battles :xf11:

I'm disappointed as a fan of 15 years. Her performances were so electrifying once, and now it's borderline cringey watching her mime along.

Years ago the dancing and stage presence made up for it and it didn't matter that she was lip syncing, but times have changed and unfortunately Britney (when it comes to lip syncing) hasn't. It's really hurting her professionally.

I remember crying during FF tour when I heard her "live" vocals, only to find out later that it was all prerecorded. But I didnt care because I had already had the experience. Then years later going to POM and basically just hearing the cd being played over the speakers was really disappointing. It was still a good time, but it just takes you out of it.

So in your opinion it may not matter whether she lip syncs, sings live, or prerecords, but to me as a fan it does.

I live in Las Vegas and have only been to POM once, because I can't fathom spending hundreds of my hard earned dollars to see Britney multiple times when she's miming along to her cd.

I love her, she will always be my fav, but I'm not going to be a blind stan and pretend her current level of live performance doesn't bother me.

i agree with you on the disappointing aspect of your post. Like watching the Triple Ho vids, her lip-synch was so out of sync that I kept going like :disagreewitchu:

like at least back in the day she put a little bit more effort. like i don't care if she lips anymore like I have been to many of her shows and i don't expect her to sing live but at least make it look like you're trying.

I would be here for pre-recorded tbh.. like I LOOOOVE the stronger/crazy remixes but the 2000 vocals are like wtf :ewomg:

Britney is not the only popstar that lips, though she is the only one that's blantent about it by not prerecording because, like I said, she has no desire to fool the public the way her fellow popstars do.

I agree...BUT if she has no desire to fool anyone, why would she publicly say that she always sings live? I dont care too much about this issue, it's Britney, everyone already should know what to expect but a little effort would be nice like she used to do years ago. Just singing a live ballad here and there would make fans very happy.

There's a few explanations for that. She DOES sing live her mic is just always too low to matter or not even on at all. Britney says a lot of things that sound good in interviews but it doesn't necessarily mean she's being genuine about it. Tbh, I feel like if she was serious about fooling people she would follow in the footsteps of every other popstar and use prerecorded vocals. She doesn't bother, you know? That shows me she doesn't care to fool anyone. I'm not saying she should never sing live because it doesn't matter either way, she'll still get criticized, I am saying that I don't expect it therefore I'm not disappointed she does.
