Dear Grammy Awards,

I think the time has come for us to sit down and have a little chat about Britney Spears. Perhaps you are unaware, but the reigning queen of pop came out her ninth studio album this year and it’s absolutely incredible. “Glory” is a fresh new take on today’s pop music, and it does a fantastic job of showcasing Britney’s unique vocal talent (something that was arguably lacking in some of her other recent projects). Glory is by far some of Britney’s best work to date, and it was a project she invested over two years passionately working on. The influential power that this album will have on other artists and, thus, on the entire industry will be seen over the years to come. To be fair, we do understand that most (if not all) artists do work really hard on their albims. The difference here is that Britney’s album is fresh, innovative, and it sets forth a cohesive sound that has never before been achieved. Pop music is typically predictable, but Glory is anything but! It shows that pop music can be mature, genuine, and artistic. No one saw this level of sophistication coming from an artist like Britney Spears, whose biggest radio hits are the epitome of bubblegum pop. It is unfortunate that you yourselves cannot see and appreciate the creativity and growth that Glory expemplifies, especially when so many others have hailed it to be one of the best albums of the year. Perhaps the Grammy Awards no longer represent quality, innovation, and an artist’s creative growth because it seems clear to us that the same few artists are the ones receiving the nominations year after year. There was a time when The Grammy Awards didn’t just follow the crowd and side with the music thar was the most popular. Are the days in which you took other factors into consideration gone? We sincerely hope not. That is why we would like to challenge you, Grammys, to grow and to get outside of this comfort zone you’ve seemingly fallen into. Push the boundaries like Britney did with Glory. See things from a new perspective, and remember what it is you stand for. We believe in you. We just ask that you believe in Britney too.

Thank you

"Reigning Queen of Pop , fresh new take on today's pop music, innovative, the influential power it will have on other artists, creative growth"

I like u guys and I'm really not being negative, just being real. Glory is none of those things that u mentioned. Sure it's a dam good quality album that I truely love but we do have to be realistic here. Glory is no where near fresh on today's pop music & it's definitely not creative growth for Britney as an artist. Also an album can't have influential power if that influential power was already brought to the table by another artist, if anything today's pop music is what influenced Britney with glory & she has admitted to it several times in interviews. Just by listening to the album it sounded like something Selena or Justin released & slumber party is like a hotline bling 2.0. .. & when u mentioned creative growth, I honestly feel that Britney hasn't grown as an artist. Like I said before I'm not really being negative as some of u might call it but I'm just being real here, & no I'm not trashing glory, I actually really love the album & it definitely brought back the Britney we all know & love

And I honestly wish I wasn't cuz it's Britney we are talking about but I do have to keep it real because things like this is what gives the fan base sort of a bad name if u get what I'm saying? And also the army went beyond to make a gofundme account and shaded other artists along with it which just put the cherry on top of how bad they look. Femme fatale is the last album where Britney was creative, innovative, fresh with her music & influential among other artists with that album. Literally with every one of her albums 1-7 she was definitely taking her own lead in music & was not influenced by others but her own path. Now the tables are turned

but some parts of the article are right!

the past few years it's always the same (bey, rih or adele) being nominated.

And I agree! But the other part of me feels like.. can we really blame them? I mean if u take a good look into their music they're not following trends, they're being creative visually & artistically especially with music that ppl can relate to. Especially with Adele I mean she has her own path when she releases music & doesn't even pay attention to the others. Regardless of what they're doing for attention they're still doing their own thing. Meanwhile Britney's really focused on what is out there & what the younger generation thinks, & when u look at Rihanna , Adele ,& Beyoncé they don't really give a damn what the younger generation thinks. They're more focused on releasing music for everyone meanwhile Britney is way too focused on please one audience which is the younger generation but yet is leaving behind her older audience which they're ears have grown with music

I think we all loved the album but from the outside it's only just a decent effort not trailblazing. she stepped out of HER comfortzone but from not out of THEIRS. compared to Anti and Lemonade hell even Joanne, she didn't take any thematic risks, she didn't do anything overly provocative and while her vocals improved they definitely don't count as some of the best vocals to come out this year by a longshot. she was quite predictable, all of the songs are about desire or heartbreak, the songwriting is shallow good fun, and this is most important: none of the singles are attention getting without an assist. I expect her 10th album to be the game change ur referring to in this post, for now just the be happy she released a good album that most people liked if they heard it.

Britney for the first four years of her career was a Grammy favorite nominee and I think if the music genre categories were split by gender, like in the past, her chances of being nom'd would be much greater.  (She was nom'd 3 years in a row for Best Female Pop Vocal Album & Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.)  Glory is a great album but shows no real artistic growth, it's an updated & more cohesive version of In The Zone with some very on-trend sounding material, and she's unfortunately still deemed a guilty pleasure 16+ years into her career.  Her peers (Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, P!nk, and Christina Aguilera) have all managed to shake that label off.

No matter what Britney does she'll never be recognized by the Grammys. And with people like Taylor Swift and Beyonce running the show, I have no interest in the Grammys or whatever prestigious recognition people think owning a Grammy holds.

Who gives a shit about the Grammys anymore? They're a joke now. Look at half the rubbish nominated... you can't take it seriously at all.

Agreed, but just want to note to everyone that the Grammys have been a joke for decades. Their nominations and winners across genres over the years has been horrendous.

Glad to see not everyone here is delusional about everything Britney does.

Ya'll both make really good points.

Glory is a solid album, but not trailblazing in the least.

Still waiting on #Justice4FlawlessFatale

Flawless Fatale is too cool for the Grammys :queenflopga:

If anything from that album was nominated it would be an unfair advantage, so they went with the lessers who could compete against each other for the most overrated album :queenflopga:
