I_need_me Posted December 8, 2016 #2 Report Posted December 8, 2016 Wow, that was not good at all I mean, I don't want to bash other artists just to make Britney look good, but it's very unfair that she's always crucified for lip-synching and for looking bored and uninterested on stage (even though she's been slaying for a long time now) while Justin is out there looking like he would rather be at home taking selfies and kissing the mirror 2

But Britney is NOTORIOUS for it, she's done it consistently for nearly 2 decades... Justin only really recently made it a habit during his purpose era

He didn't even bother put the mic up to his mouth for a lot of it and only "sang" a couple of words with the playback. When Britney forgot to lift the mic performing Alien, it was front page news. She is doing a dance/lip sync show with choreo, costumes and theatrics. Her performances are not supposed to be compared with performances like Bieber's which are mainly meant to be live singing... Learn the artist you stan for. Understand what Britney does.... p.s. Breathing here and there or singing a word or two on top of a track doesn't add anything to those performances. I don't see why Britney has to sing partly on top of a track and compromise an amazing performance... p.s.2. They only case I would like to listen to Britney singing is when performing a ballad but I want her to sing the full thing. No lip sync or whatever... 1

Mrs Jared Leto Posted December 9, 2016 #17 Report Posted December 9, 2016 the worst thing about lip-syncing is, when they start singing live in the middle of the song and you can actually hear the difference in the audio and you know they lip-synced the whole time. its embarrassing. sing live or playback, but not both in one song - except its only the refrain, thats playback, i accept that. 1

You don't go to a Britney Spears concert if you want to listen to an artist singing live. If you want that kind of stuff, go watch some artist stand straight on stage while singing slow and depressive songs 1

Britney is the ONLY artist who lip syncs from A to Z doing almost nothing on stage except walking and barely dancing. It was kind of acceptable and understandable in the past when she was giving 200% of herself on stage, but now it's not, period. Other artists have more entertaining shows and are singing live too.

That her performances are constructed in a way that live singing is not allowed? It's common sense. When the song plays at the back, she slides on the floor, does a backflip, jumps around, does choreo etc. Even if she wanted to sing live she would have to change the numbers entirely... Yes she has changed. She used to sing a little bit live sometimes and she was singing the ballads live in the past. But she has changed her performances because she has always been a weak singer no matter how lovely her recording voice is. And she doesn't try to present herself as a performer that can handle a backflip while belting high notes. She took a new path and suits her more! Her new approach in a live performance is choreo, theatrics, props, lip syncing. This has been her style for a decade and it won't change. Understand who you are stunning for...!

Britney is far from the best singer. So that alone makes most people understand why she's not singing live. And let's be real, if she didn't have the opportunity to lip sync she probably wouldn't be anything today. I just exaggerated to make a point. I'm not living in a Britney bubble, and my eyes are open FYI.
