Lifetime is gonna make sure this movie gets all the publicity it can. This is Britney Spears, they are gonna milk the umbrella scene in promos, guaranteed! They will get it attention, to the full tilt. No one will care if Britney said she doesnt support the movie. It will get attention and everyone is gonna hound her about it. She worked hard to get to this point and this movie could undo what she spent 10 years trying to accomplish.

Im being honest, Lifetime is gonna milk Britney's name for everything its worth and she could allow them to do it by staying silent or standing up for herself. Idk what she is gonna do, but the latter is better imo.

I have to agree with @heatherhere. I don't understand what you think she has to gain by speaking out on it. I really don't feel she needs to "stand up for herself." There's nothing to stand up against. Have you heard of the Streisand Effect? The only thing that would be accomplished by Britney giving even a single interview is to draw more attention to the biopic. I can guarantee you that Lifetime would LOVE if Britney commented on the movie. Whitney Houston's family speaking out about her biopic certainly didn't help; it turned it into even more of a shitshow.

This is Lifetime's thing. Everyone knows it and they get dragged appropriately for it. Let the biopic happen, people will talk, and it will die quickly after. That's best case scenario imo.

Oh I have no doubts lifetime will milk the shit out of this, I just know that Britney will do her best to distance herself from it.

I know she will distance herself too. But that just leaves an open answer as to is she truly all back together. The cship will be brought up and the fact that its still valid, will garner attention that will lead to gossip. I really dont think Britney should silence herself. I dont think Lifetime should have the final say on what went down.

I don't see it as Britney silencing herself. She's already talked about it, she's already addressed it. It's more of Britney has moved on from her past, and at the end of the day the only one that has a right to comment about her past is Britney herself. People still gossip and talk about the conservatorship to this day, Britney commenting or not commenting about this biopic isn't going to change that tbh.

I agree! The biopic, unfortunately, is going to happen whether we or Britney likes it or not. The best we can do is NOT give it the attention lifetime wants it to get and let it die ASAP.

But Britney has already spoken out against it, granted in a statement, but she has spoken out against it. But Whitney had been since dead when her biopic was made. Britney is still living. This movie will create buzz for the moment and would you rather have Lifetime having the final word, further cemeting that Britney isnt all there in the head or Britney showing people its all in the past and that she is in fact competent.

The buzz is already there. Why not turn a negative into a positive if she can.

She has moved on in her life and as a fan, this biopic is going to be a mess. I guess what Im really trying to get at is could she turn this into a postitive. Promote Glory, Vegas or herself for that matter. Can this flop of a movie be used to her advantage is all Im asking. She should not only maintain her name, but make a buck off of it too considering they were dicks and didnt even get her permission.

I think it could happen, absolutely, but I don't see Britney being the type of person to want to do that.

Well her team might consider it. Thats what I meant by talking about it. She wouldnt have to explain details of the meltdown. Talk about her past being the past, how her life is really good right now and promote Glory, Vegas, etc. Get people interested in who she is now, not who she was 10 years ago. Thats what I meant by standing up for herself and not letting them have the last word.

lol Lifetime has never had the final say on anything, you're giving them too much weight. No one's going to view this as a definitive statement on her life. It'll just be a bad, cheesy biopic. I doubt it changes anyone's mind, whatever way they feel.

Well, they did have the final say on Lindsay Lohans acting career lol.

But what Im getting at is why not make this a positive and use it to her advantage. Create sympathy and promote Vegas or Glory, while stressing that the past is in the past and that her life is great right now. Thats what I mean by not letting them have the last word. Again, its a suggestion but as much as I dont like the overall idea of this biopic, I rather see Britney get some gain from it then Lifetime further keeping the rumors burning while making a buck off her name.

I honestly don't think Britney is going to pay any attention to this. They did it against her wishes, and I think Britney would rather spend her time doing anything else than worry about some shitty lifetime movie.

I feel like ppl are over reacting, the movie will be a mess no doubt about that but a lot of ppl love them a good lifetime movie & will definitely tune in. I also feel like it this is good promo for Britney because the promo will be all over the place that's how it was with the Aaliyah , Michael, & BIG biopics. A lot of the cast even said that it's going to put Britney in a good light on how she reached stardom, fell , & picked herself up again

Youre welcome boo.. ppl don't like it just because Britney doesn't like it, but aren't seeing the light of it. So far by the looks of it they're only going based on things the public witnessed from Britney. The girl that's playing Britney even said it herself, they're only going to show the rise, the fall, & how she got back on top which I feel that it'll be good on her part and more of an understanding. The public won't understand Britney if it's not done. For the record didn't even help because Britney wasn't even fully open & it showed more about her life than it did when it came to answers

EXACTLY!!! This could be a chance for her not to show she is in a good place, but get the public back on her side. FTR was 10 years ago and barely scratched what really happened. She may not have wanted it to be made, but this biopic could do alot of good. I think if she approached it in the right way, she could not only shut people up, but also regain leverage in the industry.

I agree . part of me alslo feels like Britney didn't want nothing to do with it because it would put her in a predictament & have lots of lawsuits against her

Plus the boys, imagine having to explain to them at 11 and 10 what happened. She might have wanted to wait until they were old enough to understand

Nah I doubt it's that .. she's gonna have to explain to them regardless since it's all over The internet

Tbh she can promote glory without using her past as a clutch. I said before in a different topic how I respect the fact that Britney doesn't use her past/problems to get attention/promote herself. Doing that now because of a biopic she didn't want wouldn't be Britney at all, and her team isn't gonna go for it either.

The reason why it didn't help any when whitneys family spoke out about was because the death of her daughter happened around the same time as the biopic released & the attention immediately drew to the daughter rather than the biopic & also the family was behind the biopic & are the ones that were along the process of it. As soon as the promo for Britney's biopic comes out that's when the hype will commence

I think the biopic movies keep getting less and less popular because the quality of them is so low. Especially when they can't even use the artists music. But in general they are created because people love the artists. The only bad part in my eyes is it makes it seem Britney's career is over. Then again at least Britney has enough of a story to make a movie out of and she's still so young. Imagine if they tried to make one for Christina. No plot lol.
