As some may be aware, I am not a gay man and I generally don't like articles that speculate as to the intentions of groups they are not a part of. That being said, I thought I'd share it to see what others think. Far be it for me to tell anyone how to feel - I like Britney because of 1) her music, 2) her personality (or what we know of it), 3) Blackoutney still fascinates me, and 4) because I grew up loving her and just never let it go. My other relatable celebrities are dead (RIP WHITNEY).

I hate the concept for putting labels on everything. I have straight friends who like Britneys music, and I have gay friends who like Eminem. Your sexual orientation doesn't need to indicate what music you like.

Well you don't need to be gay to like Britney, anyone can like anyone and it doesn't define their sexuality imo.

First off, to people who are attracted to men Britney might be a bit relatable, since she has a ton of songs about guys.

On the other hand, people who are attracted to women might feel like Britney is attractive to them as well.

But what most of the people like about Britney is her as a person, what she went through and take her as an inspiration. It shouldn't matter whether you are gay or straight, Britney is an inspiration to people in general. Not only her music, but eveey aspect of her life is unique and inspirational, which should be enough to tell anyone can like Britney.

As a straight woman I find this article to be in such poor taste to gay men. I don't understand the point of singling out a group of people - like who and what you like, your sexual orientation shouldn't be a factor in that.

Macho straight men are the problem. They associate anything girly as gay for guys. If a guy likes romantic films, he gay. If a guy likes pop diva music, he's gay. 

 

It's like shut the fuck up. Just enjoy the music & life.

She has catchy af music! She's hot! And she's had a huge impact and is easy to relate to!

Its just a generalization that gay guys are very into pop divas kinda like most thugs are black men or all women are bad drivers...

its not completely true in either of those cases HOWEVER, all of the above are more true than false

if a guy loves ariana,nicki,madonna,britney,mariah and katy 99% that hes gay... Its just how things are and its hardly ever wrong.

it has alot to do with the fact those are dance acts and gay guys love to shake their ass and dance (as do girls). Its very rare to find a straight guy who dances

 

youre just a very small percentage of male fans who are not gay

It's the way she acts, dances, ... There is somethin so special and so fierce in her without being a diva if you know what I mean. That's natural for her.

This is something that a lot of gay men love about Brtney Spears. So I do. 

 

But globally as a person and without speaking about orientation, Britney is a very kind person, we all know that, she's a smart Louisiana girl who became a POP Star.

She is the american dream in every angles. We all know that she had bad days in her life that most people can understand and relate to. Britney Spears is a real person. She has so many hit songs that will never ever get old, that's kinda amazing  

That's other reasons why people like her !

 

I mean, how could anyone don't like her ? She is so brilliant. 

 

I've never stopped following her since 2007, I feel so blessed to have found this incredible girl in my life because she helped me a lot in some parts of my life.

This! People can pretend that music has nothing to do with sexual orientation but statistics would show otherwise. A guy who not only listens to Britney but is a huge fan is much more likely to be gay than straight. And there is nothing wrong with that. Same with straight people and football. A gay guy can watch sports but what percentage of the gay community does that? I'd say a pretty low one.
