Britney Got Replaced!

Listen: Pitbull's songs actually get played on the radio (normal top 40 radio not just dance) and this song will get a big boost since its apart of that massive fast and furious franchise (better than the smurfs).  Think about it,  she would have done a flashy video, probably appeared on the red carpet for this film and so on. You can bag on Pitbull all you want but in the eyes of most he is known for good time type of music that always played in the clubs and sure Britney gets some play there too but really its usually S&S, TOXIC or SP now. This would probably have helped given glory some ripple effect promo too. Plus he seems like a nice guy and he actually gave her props here, and he sounds like he was a bit disappointed this didn't work out. Also Romeo Santos is fire, that woulda been real sexy.

Plus you all seem to be missing the point I was getting at- they replaced her for that girl who quit 5th harmony, and I think that's fucked up. 

But yeah sure Pitbull is a sign of the end of a career or whatever this loves to drag-everyone-and-their-mama fanbase feels like saying.

I don't care how popular pitbull is, I don't care if he's played on the radio, and I don't care if he's known for good music (lol). I care about BRITNEY. SHE, ALONE built her career, SHE, ALONE can "save" it. If she wants a hit, wants to promo, wants any of things fans want, she knows how to get it. She doesn't need help. I'm personally happy with what Britney delivers because Britney is happy delivering it. I don't need her to be everywhere and be number 1 to enjoy her. I will agree that pitbull was genuine in his disappoint and praise, and that it sucks we won't have a video, but I would rather have single 3 from glory without a collab, then a collab with pitbull. I'd rather have a buzz single or wait til B10 and have something that's just Britney then I would another collab for the hell of it.

 

The girl who quit is more popular than Britney at the moment, she has a whole new career to build. That doesn't and won't take away anything from Britney's career. Britney's not losing sleep over it, neither will I.

But it's not. Camila is at this moment more interesting and relevant than Britney, it's not fucked up it's just the result of Britney's choices she made those last few years regarding her career, just like when she said some artists didn't want to work with her when she was working on Glory. 

It's obvious people would prefer someone who's at least motivated to succeed and that gp is interested in rather than someone who doesn't make efforts anymore, who doesn't want to promote , who isn't taken seriously as a singer, even a performer now, and that people just don't care about.. And we all know that song would have been promoted like crazy, Britney would have NEVER agreed to do half of what may be planned for the future of that song. And Pitbull won't be like Will.i.am performing a song alone.

So then if this is how most of the fanbase feels, Britney can do it on her own and her being passed over is what she gets for slowing down then why do you care anymore about whether she ever releases another single off of glory or a buzz single (this would've been it btw) or releases another video? People are so hell bent on her doing collabs because you feel that degrades as an artist yet you complain she is not giving it what you've determined is her best. Without even knowing how many performances they were planning around this soundtrack song (probably not many anyway) it's been determined by you all that she was gonna half ass it and plus she doesn't even sing live so fuck it. Let the new girl come along and take Britney's place, that will learn her maybe she will step it up because this has to be embarrassing for her right? No.

At this point she's been around for so long she doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to and she's fine with being passed over but I as a fan of Britney who really just wants to see her get some damn credit and have a couple of songs be noticed by people other than us and at this point I'm disappointed we're not getting a new song from her  (collab or not). I guess I'm a foolish. She too good for Pitbull (who has worked with numberous talented collaborators in the past) but not good for the general radio listening public who must be so blind to all that she has to offer and it's all her and her team's fault and not the fault of radio programmers who prefer Pitbull over her.

This could have been what S&S was for her career in 2011. I do hope one day she gets a solo hit again, I'm sure she will, but at this point anything good is better than what's going on now.

She won't sing live or promote the hell out of her songs, it just won't happen. All we can ask for now is music that WE as fans, will enjoy and that's about it, because I guess it's pretty obvious she already faded into irrelevancy. Her music still slays! We should be happy about that

Britney can be "relevant" again if she wanted it. She knows how to get there, but you're right - I don't think she wants it. And for me, I don't care. Her relevancy doesn't change the way I feel about her or her music. I enjoy her performances, I love her music and seeing her be her happy, goofy self in interviews is all I can ask for. It's clear Britney's doing the things SHE likes, and if you've been a fan from the beginning you know she's always hated promo. I'll be happy with more glory eras for the rest of her career then forcing her into another where she's unhappy and overworked (itz) you know? Status on the charts or popularity in the eyes of GP is irrelevant to me.

Exactly.. Britney is a niche, but also a respected person, but really she is just hollywoods biggest guilty pleasure.. But really,  she is like a Nokia 3310, everyone has a memory and they love the nostalgia, and it's cool it's back an all, but people are getting used to SmartPhones...
