Cambria Posted June 13, 2014 #1 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Britney: Inside The Dream Has anyone else read this? Im almost done, and it honestly gives the most information of any Britney book Ive read of Britneys life. Like the whole story of how she grew up, how she got involved with Sam Lufti etc. I definitely recommend. 1
Cambria Posted June 13, 2014 Author #3 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Excerpt of the chapter Im reading now. "According to people who knew Britney at this time, she kept a scrapbook of friends’ photographs, past and present. She also trusted anyone in her social party to carry her black Amex card ‘because she didn’t like carrying it and knew she had enough money anyway’. One source even claimed Britney started paying people to be with her by day because she so hated being alone, but didn’t wish to be a burden. Alli Sims had already decided to step down as assistant, telling friends that, ‘she didn’t want to be on the payroll because she felt more like friend than member of staff and didn’t want to be paid for that friendship.’ That one decision inevitably allowed Sam to have more control. By September’s end, he was effectively installed as assistant, manager, friend and life coach. It appears that not one background check was made and that Britney trusted him on face value or the recommendations of others. It was left to the media to dig into his background and its findings were of concern because Britney’s right-hand man had been the subject of three restraining orders. One, in 2004, was made by a Douglas Snoland, who filed an action on 6 September 2004 after a neighbourhood dispute allegedly led Lutfi to pound on his doors and make late-night phone calls, which were then hung up. In the complaint, Lutfi was accused of saying: ‘Your mother [she was 71] is a f****** hag…You will regret the day you ever met me.’ Lutfi denied making such threats but the judge granted a three-year restraining order. The other granted restraint was to protect ex-business acquaintance Jumana Issa, who, in 2005, accused him of ‘harassing me repeatedly with obscene emails, offensive faxes…and out-of-control telephone hang-ups’ which she numbered at between 15 and 30 a day. But the most recent, and alarming, episode centred on events in March 2007—the same time he’d been seeking to ingratiate himself with Britney’s circle. In this case, a man called Daniel Haines told how they had become housemates after meeting on the website MySpace. But, after a two-year friendship, Sam turned. In his complaint lodged with the courts, Daniel said: ‘Sam has expressed his hatred for my mother and my sister. I have received numerous emails where he wishes them dead, (or) to be raped…’ The Orange County Superior Court, after hearing all evidence, restrained Sam from contacting his former friend for a three-year period. That same year, Britney happily invited Sam Lutfi into her life, telling associates that he was ‘a really great guy with a close family’. He was also warmly welcomed into the social circle that she shared with Alli Sims. One night, for Halloween, Britney dressed up as a tiger being chased by the pretend-paparazzi made up of Alli and three friends, who included E! News correspondent Jason Kennedy, someone often used as an on-air expert on the Britney saga. Even with all his experience, he told friends that he couldn’t believe the ‘pandemonium’ he witnessed with the paparazzi that followed his friend-of-a-friend. Nor could he probably believe his luck when, on a night at an LA hot-spot called The Green Door, he found himself sitting with Britney, Carmen Electra and Heidi Klum. As a source close to that evening’s proceedings said: ‘Even Carmen and Heidi were taking photos that night. Britney’s a big deal wherever she goes.’ In the background, also disbelieving his luck, was Sam Lutfi, who would now be a constant figure by Britney’s side, placing a protective arm around her shoulder and guiding her through the media storms that would." onyx09 Posted June 13, 2014 #12 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Never hear of it. Did you like it? Is the author legit? I mean did he interview Ali or any of those people? i loved it. imo the author is legit. the author legit interviewed everybody connected to all the big moments in her life. some he named some he kept the names anonymous. i like he covers the breakdown but doesn't destroy her, he humanizes her and really feels for her. 1 1
Cambria Posted June 13, 2014 Author #13 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Right. There's a lot of psychoanalysis in it too. 1
Cambria Posted June 13, 2014 Author #14 Report Posted June 13, 2014 It really gives you an inside look. You can even develop your own theories based on this info if you don't believe it, but everything seems legit, I'm very surprised its not more popular. The fact that its someone that's not from Team Britney, I think is why not too many fans have read it, but like I said. That's why its better. Nothing is sugarcoated or glamorized.
Cambria Posted June 13, 2014 Author #15 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Im at the part - 82% in, and its going into Adnan's background & how he got involved with her.
Natooolee Posted June 13, 2014 #17 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Never hear of it. Did you like it? Is the author legit? I mean did he interview Ali or any of those people? So far (im not very far in) it does REALLY seem like hes done his legwork. It really gives you an inside look. You can even develop your own theories based on this info if you don't believe it, but everything seems legit, I'm very surprised its not more popular. The fact that its someone that's not from Team Britney, I think is why not too many fans have read it, but like I said. That's why its better. Nothing is sugarcoated or glamorized. it would be sickly sweet if it were :official: Where can i buy this??? I got it off amazon to kindle (faster) but they have new and used copies on there.
