Daily Mail: Kevin awarded 70% custody over Britney's sons

And here's what I think about this: as you may guess I don't like this move. I think the previous 50/50 split was fair, but if anyone should get the majority of time with the kids it should be Britney. Based on what is publicly known she's surely a better role model for the boys than Kevin. And I'm not saying this just because I'm a fan, sure in the past Britney wasn't in a condition where she could take care of Preston and Jayden but the times have changed. I believe that the boys being more with Britney benefits not only them, but also improves Britney's wellbeing. But that's just my personal opinion, what do you guys think?

It appears this won't be supervised visitation, so while it seems like it's a step back (less time) it's actually a step forward. Her visits were always supervised before, so now that they're not this will probably be a test to see if she can handle more time. Honestly, people need to realize that Britney will likely NEVER have full custody of the kids at this point, and the most she can hope for is a 50/50 split. We also have to remember that something major did happen regarding Britney's mental health, and I will never buy into the bullshit that they're keeping her kids from her to "punish" her. This went through a COURT, so Jamie can't just go into court and say "Britney isn't listening to me so cut the time with her kids" that's not how it works and that wouldn't be in the best interest of the children. They're not doing this to "punish" Britney, they're doing what's best for the kids. Plus, Britney and Kevin over the years have seemed to have a good understanding when it comes to their kids, and just because it says 70/30 on paper doesn't necessarily mean that Kevin will refuse Britney from seeing her boys longer than what's allowed if that's what she/them want. Also, according to the TMZ article this has already been in place for a year and now it's just official on paper.

I do completely agree with you that taking them away from her will in no way be good for her, but the fact that the less time will be unsupervised, is it possible they wanna see how she does with them alone and it’s baby steps in her regaining custody instead of just visitation?? If this is the case, then I can see her completely agreeing to it. Could the cship actually end???

The boys are also at an age where the courts could get their opinion on who they wanna be with, I’d hate to think they’d choose Kevin cuz that would kill her. This is a complicated sitch.

I think the only way the court would be asking the kids who they wanted to be with was if Britney tried to get full custody, and with the boys spending most of their life in Kevin's custody it wouldn't be a smart move for Britney to want full custody no matter how well she is. A 50/50 split would be the best option in this case, and I agree about the supervision. I see this as being a test if Britney can handle more time and handle the responsibility of caring for her children alone. It's baby steps and they're steps in the right directions of both gaining more custody and proving herself capable outside of the conservatorship.

Yeah I meant 50/50, that’s typically what divorced parents who aren’t unfit parents get.

@heather @MonaLisa613

I sure hope you're right and this is just a test to see if Britney doesn't need supervision when being with the boys anymore, because if she passes that test it could mean the 50/50 split will happen again, only this time she'll be able to relax more knowing that the officials trust in her parenting abilities. I think that would also give her a significant mental health boost.
