JAMIE SPEARS GETS AN INJUNCTION AGAINST 'FREE BRITNEY' BLOGGER
By Wonderwall.com Editors

11:31am PST, Dec 21, 2019

The fansite AbsoluteBritney.com, known for its conspiracy theory-esque posts and comments about Britney Spears' long-running conservatorship, hasn't posted a new update since September.

That may be because the singer's father, Jamie Spears, got an injunction against the blog's creator, Anthony Elia, prohibiting him from posting defamatory remarks about the aims of those managing the conservatorship, including Jamie, who stepped down temporarily but is set to take over as lead conservator again in January.

TMZ reports a judge has ordered Elia to cease and desist making statements that imply the conservatorship is "harming" the 38-year-old singer, as he did earlier this year when he suggested Britney's team was manipulating her Instagram to make it appear as if the conservatorship is necessary, the implication being that it's not.

Those posts fueled and were fueled by the "Free Britney" movement, with scores of the singer's Instagram followers urging Britney to assert her freedom and independence, as she did in a post in September.

At one point, Elia called the conservators' treatment of the singer a "human rights violation," according to TMZ. The website also reports Jamie was especially incensed by the fact Elia said he was basing his claims about the conservators' motives on a "gut feeling."

Larry Stein, an attorney for Jamie, successfully argued the remarks were defamatory, citing the death threats those involved with the conservatorship have received as a result of the blog.

Britney asked the court this past spring to free her from the constraints of the conservatorship.

She's been on a musical hiatus of sorts since last January, when she announced she needed personal time to process her father's failing health. She later sought help at an inpatient treatment program. She was rumored to have told the judge handling her conservatorship case that her father forced her to go to the treatment center, although TMZ has cited laws that seem to show that would be illegal.

The conservatorship, meanwhile, has been in place since 2008.

According to a new report from L.A. Magazine, Britney shells out more than $1 million a year in legal fees to the conservatorship "and other fees." Among those costs is $15,000 a month that goes to an attorney Britney was not allowed to choose.

Wow that's... long.

Shame it had to come down to this, but I'm really not surprised. Anthony knew the risks of presenting speculation as the truth and people even warned him but he just kept going. Maybe now he'll be more responsible in what he writes and how he writes it.

Am I the only one who’s seeing the article as one single line going downward, lol

This outcome is not at all surprising.

Shows like that for me as well, hence the "wow that's... long."

Absolutely no sympathy when he was warned over and over to stop doing what he did. Anthony was in the wrong and this is exactly the outcome I expected. Fans need to learn freedom of speech doesn't  give you a right to defame people.

This place is already dead, so I think this is the nail in the coffin.

I agree but also Exhell is pretty dead too, it’s the indefinite hiatus and also her almost being isolated, all we get is an insta post here and there, there’s just nothing to discuss.

Just so you all know we are not closing down, we are actually working on new stuff.

When i get the go ahead i will post anthony his goodbye letter, because he chose to leave the site.

And when i can explain more about what went on the past few months i will post it in here.

Definitely interested in this letter and if he's going to take any responsibility or keep pretending like he did nothing wrong. Glad you're keeping the site going, because while news may be slow in Britney land, you couldn't pay me to go back to exhale or their new confusing af forums.

I wonder if he is allowed to talk about all of this on other blogs, or if he has to stop all together.

I would think he can’t talk about this topic anywhere online, the purpose was to shut him up, so that’s what makes sense to me.

And the ads! I don’t know if it’s just for me, but I get bombarded by ads in Exhale even when I’m just trying to read an article I get 4 or 5 pop ups, not to mention the ads sprinkled all throughout the piece.

The only ads I get are the pop up ones promoting the new Exhale and asking to join, which are so fucking annoying, I wish my Norton ad blocker worked on those like it does all other ads.

All what say is Britney needs to her own privacy and no matter if she is under c-ship. I just hope her father and whole team respect it. Also, her papa deserves bad actually...it's just bad that what's happening is at Britney's invoice and not at his.

I love how some of you talk trash about Anthony but you won't mention that Perez Hilton didn’t get sued for “leaking” the original Make Me video and for accusing Britney of being high on Ecstacy.  And he will get away with that because he’s covered by Ja**e and team C-ship.

Anyone’s who defamed Britney deserves to be sued, I STILL think it’s sick Perez was given a part in the Circus tour, as far as I’m concerned, it was just a buy off to shut him up. Now he’s pretty much team c-ships mouthpiece, he is a despicable human being. Back when Anthony being sued first became news, I said I thought it was stupid that he’s suing a fan yet he doesn’t go after the media who say vile things about his daughter.

As for the Make Me video, I don’t see why that would be a big deal?? Plus it’s really LaChapelles property esp. since Britney never released it, so he should be the one to sue over it.

If you think any of us support that disgusting piece of trash you're more delusional than ever.
