I think that Work Bitch is a really personal song. Seriously.

Aww, I love that! Now I realize how truly sad "Perfume" is, it's a really sad song. :sadney:

Do you think that song refers to Jason if we are looking at the personal aspect of the song?

Well, she said that she wrote about Jason in this album, and I don't think that any of the other songs are for him.

Hold On Tight is about a love that she wanna live, someone who is not going to leave her.

The other love songs that could be about Jason are Perfume and Til it's gone, and I'm not sure about TIG,but I think Perfume,is clearly about him.

She almost admitted it. :yesplz:

The party

You wanna live fancy? Live in a big mansion?
Party in France?

You better work bitch, you better work bitch
You better work bitch, you better work bitch

What if the meaning here is not that "If you want to party in France you better work bitch"

but it's "You want to party in France? No,you have to work."

Is she trying to say that she wasn't able to do what she wanted to? :entertainme:

Perfume is Britney worrying her relationship away. The song is inside her head. Her worries and longings and tryhard thoughts :P I really connect Perfume, ISBE and Don't cry to this same relationship. Britney can't help but worry, it's part of who she is now. Love should be easy but she still worries. And Don't cry is accepting that this love without trust isn't working so is over.

Even though I I have a slightly different take on the song than the original poster, I think it's awesome we had this discussion. Hopefully more will join in and give their in depth opinions rather that is about the song, the OP, my and other posters opinions or/and rather or not you agree of the personal natural of the song.

So thanks original poster and the Galaxy/Universe <3

Ben Mor went with more the domination theme-Check my earlier post ;)

I feel like if that was the underlying message of the song, then they should have portrayed that in the music video...

Heck I'll just quote it again :P

Imo they started with the premise of advice to X factor contestants since that is what Britney had been doing in 2012. So imo it's Britney giving advice from a place of experience.

It is the legendary Ms Britney Spears coming through making sure the wannabe's coming for her throne know what's it's going to be like as they begin their journey.

At the same time she's making sure they know her advice is from from experience she's reminding them that she's the hit maker  :walkonby:

And even the video Mor wanted to show Britney Dominating Bitches without being so in your face with the message  ;)

I don't think so...the "bitch" doesn't have any specific meaning, it comes from the "it's britney bitch" that they're are using a little to much (remixes, S&S, yes it's awesome and iconic but if you're overuse it like in this song it's just a bit too much)

it may have a little meaning because she had to work a lot to get where she is, but I don't think she sees herself in the song...she never wanted a big mansion and bugattis and maserattis...she wanted money so that she could have a comfortable life with her family...she wants a normal life, she doesn't want sip martinins and party in france, she says she doesn't even drink that much...I think it's a motivational song and that she can relate to a certain extend, but it's not like a super meaningful song to her in my opinion (and I would say this about every song on britney jean)

I don't think it's a woe is me song but it's a meaningful song imo. It's a motivational and encouraging song with a hint of warning. I don't think the song came from a place of sadness but there is a element of a point will come that it comes too much but remember they need you more so than the other way away since you are the talent-the star. Fight for this if you want it. This is judge and mentor Britney. But there is also a reminder that Britney is the queen B to showcase Britney knows what she's talking about and as a reminder of that Britney is The Star that they will have to compete against <3

And The rest of BJ is personal and meaningful as well though I should probably point you to a number of other threads that talk about that :P

It can be personal, I'm not inside Britney's head, so my opinion is just that, an opinion...but for me all of the lyrics are so generic that 90% of the people can relate to them...so I believe that britney identifies with them, but it's because they're so generic...

so it's personal? probably but not her most personal stuff, for me at least...even small things like the glitch on alien show how involved she was with her album...she didn't heard the final result before accepting the final editing of everything?? how didn't she noticed that glitch? or some of the editing in her vocals, it seems so careless...this album seems so rushed that the personal marketing doesn't make it for me...

umm every song has some sort of lyrics that relate to someone's life at the moment. This is not "personal", it is motivational though, but I doubt even Britney considers it one of her personal songs :umum:

After reading this:

I really thought about it. I mean, she said several times that this is her most personal album to date.

And then she released "Work Bitch" as the first single. It doesn't make sense, right? :aintevenmad:

Well,I think that the song is about how much this industry forced her to be a certain image that they wanted to promote.

So let's start:

You wanna,You wanna

You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti?

You want a Maserati? You better work bitch

You want a Lamborghini? Sippin' martinis?

Look hot in a bikini? You better work bitch

It seems like someone is telling this to someone, and I think Britney, (since she is a co-writter) is trying to say something.

What is she trying to say? Maybe the pressure she got from this industry,to work hard, because "she wanna".

And she did work hard,right?

But with the word "Bitch",she's probably trying to say that she didn't get the respect she deserved in this industry. :umum:

You wanna live fancy? Live in a big mansion?

Party in France?

You better work bitch, you better work bitch

You better work bitch, you better work bitch

What if the meaning here is not that "If you want to party in France you better work bitch"

but it's "You want to party in France? No,you have to work."

Is she trying to say that she wasn't able to do what she wanted to? :entertainme:

Now get to work bitch!

Now get to work bitch!

Bring it on, ring the alarm

Don't stop now, just be the champion

Work it hard, like it's your profession

Here it doesn't seem like she is the one who's talking.

She got so much pressure to be number one,and somehow, they forced her to work hard,to "be the champion".

Watch out now, cause here it comes

Here comes the smasher, here comes the master

Here comes the big beat, big beat disaster

No time to quit now, just time to get it now

Pick up what I'm putting down

Pick up what I'm putting down

She couldn't stop,"no time to quit now",because she had to make performances/albums/hits.

She wasn't able to do what she wanted.

Break it off, break it down

See me come and you can hear my sound

Tell somebody in your town

Spread the word, spread the word

"You can hear my sound." She's talking about the worldwide hits, and how fast she became one of the most successful pop artists.

I am the bad bitch

She admits, that she is the bitch that everyone was talking to. :fliph:

Hold your head high, fingers to the sky

They gonna try to try ya', but they can't deny ya'

Keep it moving higher, and higher

Keep it moving higher, and higher

So hold your head high, fingers to the sky

Now they don't believe ya', but they gonna need ya'

So basically, this is her talking, and her thoughts about all this. They can use you,but they can't change who you really are.

You know who you are,and people can't take it from you. :britney-agreedlol:

Work, work, work, work

Work, work, work, work

Work, work, work, work

Work, work, work

There's a reason she's repeating this word. It's what she heard all her life.

And she is working,bitches. :howiroll:
