I don't really care either, and I must admit she's an icon. Can't deny her success, but I like Britney more and I think she's a better musician.

There isn't one (new) popstar today that really impresses me with their performing. Not one. I love watching Madonna perform and while Britney isn't what she used to be, I still love to see her. There truly may never be another Britney Spears. I think there's more of an emphasis on live singing these days over dancing (even if the live singing is fucking awful), it takes a certain type of person to command attention and own the stage - with Britney, even if you hated her, you bet your ass you were going to watch her perform during an awards show - even just to say you hated it and blah blah blah - you still wanted to see it. That's the difference. Britney is the definition of the "X Factor" - her dancing in her prime was 110% and most of the time she would outshine her back up dancers on top of it. I prefer pop stars like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and Britney Spears over the likes of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga. 1
