Songs like MATM is Britney at her most urban/hiphop, but it wasn't that big. Instead, people want to hear Womanizer, Baby, OIDIA from her

Not meant to be racist (though the music industry almost certainly is), but do white girls like Britney have a harder time crossing over to such territory :bj: Is that why her team may always be trying to stop her?

Blackout kewl.png It is like saying is JLO too Latino to go country or is Rihanna too black to go rock... or is Cher too plastic to do anything other than pop... kewl.png

Blackout isn't urban though :frenchy:

That's the point though, can u see JLo getting dat number 1 country song (or any song in general lbr :overthis: )? Isn't the country market kinda racist  :overthis:

I hope no one is racist in this day and age... kewl.png

But tbf - I can kind of see JLO doing a bit of a country dance to a song :gloria: I am here for timberella :orangu:

Blackout has an urban sound to it - and you can see Brit in the S and S remix video - I think she will smash that look and vibe and she looked comfortable..

I suppose it is not the type of music you put out - it is how you execute it - will people be convinced - I think Brit could do it..

What do you think?

Blackout has Toy Soldier and Break the Ice, but the songs that got released and kinda became hits were still Gimme More and Piece of Me, which are mostly dance pop.

lt depends, she has the dance skills to pull it off better than anyone rn, but I'm not sure if the music would click. I honestly think Tik Tik Boom would've flopped and a more polished version of Body Ache (minus the basic beats) would've smashed :yaknow:

There still is, but weirdly, I see it for both ends. I mean I see a lot of people dissing Justin and Miley for trying to act black and you can kinda see them flopping when they don't release something all pop. Maybe her team sees it that way for Britney :yakno:

TBH - Miley became a world wide sensation for it - people can mock her all they like - but she is now a household name. JT has always had that vibe in his solo efforts - and he has a lot of respect in the industry - haters are gonna hate - but success shines stronger..

I think personally if Brit releases another record - she will try this vibe - especially if she signs with LA Reid.. fingers crossed..

I meant Bieber :gloria: I do think there's a double standard for guys though, like it's easier for them to crossover

Let's hope, but I'd really rather her have 2 or 3 urban songs then have her revisit her 90s vibe songs with a twist because it's retro and cool
