It may sound bad, but I love happy gays. The rude gays are sooooo unpleasant to be around (I know if I was being politically correct I would say that all rude people are unpleasant, but Im sure you know what I mean). I happen to think it is a good stereotype that gays are nice people...like strait dudes who are defending a gay person are always like "he's such a nice guy...". And let's face it the gay stereotypes are hardly ever offensive...not the way I use them anyways, and I only really use them w people who are cool w it.

 

Like the Asian stereotype of being smart and good at math...like not necessarily true, but not hateful. The positive stereotypes help people who may be prejudice actually like and respect a group of people that they otherwise might not trust. But I get what you mean...stereotypes can be underhandedly shady or harmful in the long run. Part of the problem w the gay stereotypes is also that gay people really embrace alot of them, and joke about it out in the open. 

 

anyways, I should probably stop talking. My sister is a lesbian and I know tons of gays, especially thru her and her friends...and we joke around a certain way. So I dont mean to offend, I love my gay boys its a term of endearment.

Some try and make  sexual jokes about my sister, but my emotions are in control, and when they see how I am not reacting or attacking them it makes it awkward for them and they feel like a douche. The only way to stop it is proper education and political reform. Being angry and hateful only makes the hate continue. Like one of my friends made a joke about gays that I found distasteful so I just embarassed him w a simple observation...like he made a sexual remark about how gays probably enjoy being in prison or something disgusting like that, and I just pointed out how it is stupid to assume that the only thing gay people do is have sex w other gays and suck dicks like 24/7...it shut him up and I could see it made him think. Ignorant people just need to be schooled. I believe and expect progress, and I think very few people deep in their hearts dont care for other people

I live in Argentina, here the gay marriage is legal, the government really got bashed for that but I think it's ok. Anyway I still feel like there's a lot of hate out there. The tv is FULL of gay people tho, and it wasn't like that before so I think maybe thats something.

I spend a lot of time with my grandparents, and I love them and everything but you gotta know how older people feels about homosexuality, they are SO homophobic, in a irrational way.
