I mean, I absolutely love Femme Fatale and it's my third favourite album by Britney so I am not bashing or being negative in any way. I'm not talking about first week sales either but total sales.

Femme Fatale had three Top 10 hits, including a #1 and 4 singles overall yet it only sold about 2 million worldwide. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga only peaked at #4 with Applause, didn't do as well with DWUW because of the video drama and completely tanked with G.U.Y. yet she sold exactly as much.

I mean, considering the singles success I would expect Femme Fatale to sell double of what it actually sold. Why do you think the singles didn't really translate in album sales?

WHO ACTUALLY CARES WHEN THE ALBUM IS A FREAKING MASTERPIECE DUDE!

Shut up, your positivity is so cheesy. Answer the topic at hand, lots of fans wanted to know/didn't understand why it "underperformed".

It has almost 2 million sells its not that bad tbh considering the lack and quality of the promotion Britney and her team did...

I mean, the third and fourth single don´t have TV appereances, Criminal isn´t even performed in the tour... etc etc

And her promo appearences... were with messy dancing, interviews plain and boring idk messy era tbh

Great album tho  :crying1:

BH's main page post linked to a thread on Exhale that had a million billion download links. And many on Exhale actively encouraged fans not to support the album saying it was all team Britney and Britney was barely even present for the album. Pretty much the same bull shit that was happening with BJ but not as bad.

I can't even tell you how much I still love FF. I love that it makes me happy listening to it.

britney didn't promote it,and when she did little promo it was so bad that ruined the era,but sales 4 FF were decent considering the fact that team spears didn't promote it and title ff was meant 4 girls and manny ppl (guys) didn't even gave it a chance bcz they thought it was girly album, and it was everything but girly.................FF sales were pretty good and it had hit singles so :)

First of all you don't tell me to shut up, that's my mom's job and second sales are becoming a irrelevant suubject imo because everyone is "underperforming" nowadays, so u guys start concentrating on the quality of the album instead.  :omg1:

2 million+ sales are not bad at all...So it sold well because it was a great album and had great singles, even though it wasn't heavily promoted...Keep that in mind...

Gaga's album sold about the same because Gaga is still a new artist comparing to Britney and more relevant to the general public...So it should have sold twice as much but her album was awful...

Britney's albums are bought almost exclusively by her million fans whereas Gaga's albums sell better in the general public...This is the reason that Britney can sell almost the same amount of albums with Gaga (Britney's loyal fan base is almost as big as the general public that bought Gaga's album)...However Gaga loses rapidly her relevancy and her actual fan base is shrinking as well...I doubt if they will be able to support her when her 4th album comes out...
