Selena isn't as identified with Britney like Gaga was to Madonna or Ariana to Mariah though. I mean like blatant copying in videos and music.

Not really. I mean, Selena is cute and all but imo she can't be referred as the "next Britney". Britney was an amazing dancer , she even outdanced her professional dancers sometimes. And her performances were fucking flawless and iconic, she had the whole package. Selena's dancing isn't really great, and her performances aren't really "wow". Most important she doesn't have the stage presence that Britney had, and nobody has it right now anyway imo.

If anything, she's maybe the next "post breakdown Britney" and yet i think even now Britney is still better, but not the next "Britney in her prime", she's far far far from it.

Well I had a conversation about fame and the status those HUGE legends had/have. imho I don't think that there will EVER be another ICON like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Madonna or the icon of our generation Britney. I guess it has to do with sales and the short-lived "stars" of today.....today you are the shit and everything turns to gold and the next day nobody knows who you are...*cough*christina*cough* 

 

I think those HUGE popstars will eventually die out. Since NO ONE will ever have those sales they had back then it will never be the same again.

Also, during her early years, Britney pulled off the whole whore/virgin duality really well. You know, she'll be all baring in her performances and gyrate on stage, but then smile her all-American smile and speak the sweetest things. I think Selena got rid of the virgin jig way too early for people to truly say that the Britney Spears Playbook is her bible.

she just looks so young! people cant take her seriously. she is a cutie pie but she's not like britney. they have very different personalities/ styles. i adore her tho. she's so much better than miley and other stars.
