However, even if her voice is getting worse, I'm ok with Autotuney. She made Femme Fatale and did well.

She sang during interviews and on X factor, I believe this was a warm up or altered. Britney can clearly still sing as we have heard heard her also sing live on her last tours. Enough is enough on this bogus drama.

I feel like this whole Alien controversy is so stupid. Britney has already proven she can sing with live performances of I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman and Everytime in the past. Plus, we've also already heard studio leaks that sound great! The only reason why this is even going viral instead of those is because it's not as great in terms of vocals and everyone likes to bash on Britney.

Although there are a couple flat notes going into the chorus, I honestly still love the song and the media needs to stop being so dramatic.

 

If Beyonce's voice cracks during a song the general public bows down, calling it, "real" and "raw".

 

Yet if Britney uses auto-tune she is also hated on.

 

She can't please everyone and needs to know we love her and think her voice and music is beautiful. Let's take this opportunity to promote the song and get that third single to slay the GP!!

I'm not gonna lie... I was a bit disappointed seeing as the song required minimal singing ability and she was out of tune and shaky. It sounded like bad karaoke. I just had thoughts running through my head like... how could she have forgotten how to sing? She was an absolute powerhouse when she was little and during BOMT era. I'm not exaggerating. I still think her voice back then was better and stronger than Adele's. It was definitely underrated because of her image. Can cigarettes really do this, though? It can't be because singers who smoke don't lose their singing ability. The only thing that can happen is their voice may develop a raspier quality if they've been heavily smoking for many, many years. So I have no idea. Regardless, it doesn't change how I feel about her at all. It's just whatever. Only Britney receives this type of treatment from the media.

I listened to the recording and I was like god that was terrible. However, I have a good singing voice and when I just wake up, or my voice is strained in anyway it sounds kind of like that. Hard to stay in tune and it is so frustrating. So you over compensate and it makes things worse.

Her voice has obviously been damaged over the years from smoking, not training it properly and regularly, etc. but the media blew the whole Alien dilemma out of proportion. She's still a competent vocalist. Her voice has lost a lot of power but has gained a lot of vulnerability or fragility which I think translates well in emotional songs like Perfume.

I think everybody is overreacting, the fans that are fans since 1998 know that Brit can sing, maybe her voice is a little damaged but she still has a good voice. Maybe she should go with a singing coach that helps her to get back her real voice (BOMTney), but i still think that she is fine, and everybody must to get over this Alien recording, it's not a big deal..

TBH. I think she needs to focus on her voice with a coach and thats it. We all know she can sing, but i think there has been some damage to her voice (its not like the "Sometimes" range anymore) but honestly i dont care. I love her shows for the entertainment.

Then again, she is a singer and she needs to push harder and do some live performances. Her credibility is not as good as before and people (and other artist) are constantly making fun of her lypsinc and stuff.

I know everyone uses playback this days, but not for the whole shows like she does so maybe it is to hide the voice changes? I don't know

i've been a fan since she first came out and she has a good voice and the people who think other wise can take a hike. i am sick of the general population bashing britney spears like a hobby if they have nothing nice to say then don't say anything.  i love her voice ,when i was a child i used to try to sing like her because that is how great i rated her voice. i prefer britneys voice to christinas her tone of voice grates on my ear britney has a lovely tone and conveys emotion and soul in her voice. and i think the song alien is actually meant to sound a bit off key like a flat or a sharp note. and her voice in my opinion is meant to sound a bit computerised in the song. it is called alien after all.
