Britney has given very few live vocal performance since her breakdown. So how do we know she can still sing? Vocal ability isn't just something you possess forever. I mean, look at Mariah - her vocal ability has severely declined this era.

Furthermore, if any of you suggest that Britney's studio vocals aren't bad, let me remind you of two possibilities: Autotune technology is now so advanced that producers can disguise the sound so it sounds raw. The other possibility is that, since we haven't seen Britney in more than one candid arriving at or leaving a studio, it's safe to say that somebody else recorded her BJ album (I have yet to see receipts that Britney has a studio in her house), which even if autotune wasn't used, would shoot down claims that Britney's vocals are used in the album.

I want proof from you guys. "I know she can still sing." Where's your proof? :gloria:

That all being said, I have accepted that Britney's voice is very subpar these days, but I haven't given up on Britney because every era since her breakdown, she has improved her performances than the era before. So don't you dare call me a hater.

Go get a job man! ;)

During that xfactor thing she either had something going on with her throat, or she needs throat recovery from what ever was going on (cigarettes?)

She hit the notes... Just with a shaky voice and a voice that's more raspy than rasped cheese

I do agree to an extent that Britney has lost a lot of the vocal abilities that she used to possess. But I still think she can sing, and I do think that the Alien demo is more of a bad take than anything else. But I don't agree with anything else you said. Britney does have a recording studio at her house, it's been documented in a handful of interviews she's done. And just because we don't have candids of Britney going to the studio doesn't mean she's not going there. I'm sure there are tons of times Britney has left her house or somewhere else and has gone completely unnoticed. The paparazzi don't clamor her as much as they used to.

But I believe she can still sing because if she couldn't, then why else would producers praise her? William Orbit, Sia, and will.i.am have all praised Britney this era on how great of a singer she is. I don't think they would say this if she wasn't. Also, if she has no vocal abilities left at all, then on all of the songs on Britney Jean she would sound like a robot. I M O her vocals sound very raw on songs like Perfume, Don't Cry, Brightest Morning Star, and even Passenger (whatever parts Britney sings).

TL;DR: We really don't know if Britney can still sing or not, but there is enough evidence pointing towards Britney still having a relatively good voice.

Even tho they're studio vocals they sound pretty raw and I believe that's how her real voice sounds right now. Also, if you compare her voice during Happy Birthday in the X Factor and the live moments during Don't let me be the last to know in the Femme Fatale Tour it sounds exactly the same as in many songs from Britney Jean like Don't Cry and Perfume. My point is that despite all the controversy behind Britney's vocals in the album, Britney Jean is a great representation of her current voice.

These Passenger vocals are edited.

This is a stupid ass thread; this is not exhale if you are going to bash Britney go there.  :smokeney:

I don't even know why u believe u should need answers. Britney doesn't owe u anything & if she doesn't want to give proof thats her decision and judging her decisions is rude. Who are you to ask people for proof; u don't own her. Also If u do not like knowing weather she can sing or not, go be a fan of someone else frankly you're a bad fan if u can call yourself a fan. U prob made a thread just so it could be a hit  :dealwitit:

I think "Hold On Tight" is probably the closest song to "raw, unprocessed Britney". And she shows in that song that she can still belt it out. All the other songs on BJ aren't really that processed (except Alien chorus and ISBE) but they definitely don't sound naturally "Britney" to me.

(I'm not saying she didn't sing the songs, I'm saying they don't sound naturally like her. For example, we all know Everytime and Womanizer are her, but Everytime is falsetto and Womanizer is deep and raspy. Neither sound like natural Britney, whereas MATM and Slave do.)

Either way, she'll never sing live again, so we'll never truly know. I definitely think she can't sing like Star Searchney anymore, but I think she could still pull off Luv The Hurt Away. :queenflopga:

Some of you are so delusional :yeahkright:

but OP I disagree with you on one thing, it's definitely her singing. I don't think Britney would have someone else sing her songs, plus I feel her soul in it

I believe she still can sing, at least in studio. But i'm sure her voice is really damaged tho. I mean, there is absolutely no excuses for her to lip sync the ballads on vegas. Anybody could sing them if they can sing. Don't tell me it's because she dances, because she doesnt even dance that much, and if moving her arms and walking make her out of breath to the point she can't sing even 2 sentences she has a serious problem.

If she really can sing, all i can say is that it's disrespectful to her fans to lip synch every fucking words just because she's lazy.

It was on 99% pre-recorded, rly :/

LMFAO no

Every performance sounded different, and apparently (rumor), she sang YOK because they didn't have pre-recorded vocals so that her team was forced to let her sing live

It is so funny days after the release of the recording I am still reading about it in papers and other Media sources. Just read a recent one in the Chicago Tribune. It is almost going to be like - "Do you remember where you were when you heard about Britney's 'Alien' recording leak?". I just wish someone would analyze it with a program to see if that recording has been tampered with, then we could put this all to rest. I have read that a sound engineer believes it was reverse-auto-tune. When I first heard the song I was thinking something doesn't sound right. And when I read that I listen to the song again. and I could see what he was talking about. It made sense then why it didn't sound just right.

t's safe to say that somebody else recorded her BJ album

That is up there as one of the stupidest comments I've ever read on a Britney forum...ever.
