I do remember Britney saying something way before the Album came out that it was going to be scaled back. More acoustic then her previous Albums. It was also supposed to have a little from each era in it which I didn't see as well.

I don't think so, she was working with some pretty urban producers (Danja, Darkchild etc.) who don't write/produce children material.

She loves kids, but she can decipher between her life as a mom and as a sexy popstar lol.

No, I don't think so.  (I bet it would have been better than Blackout, though )

But, which is obviously real, is that the album was going to have a completely different direction. Besides the "most personal" thing she said several times, she also said that it was going to be more urban (and I'm happy it didn't end up being so). Also that picture of the recipe she posted, hinting that it was going to have like something from each previous album, maybe that were her intentions, but, you know, everyone can make a lot of plans but while we're working on something, if you're not determined enough to follow those plans, or if you're afraid to say no (like Britney herself has admitted she is) to the producers or writers, or your team, or whatever, then things end up being completely different. We don't know how many songs she recorded for the album. Maybe the rejected songs were "more urban" or just something different from what we have on Britney Jean, but only Britney knows (if she's really the one who decides the tracklist as she says) why she decided to put the songs she put on the final tracklist.

A children's album. Cute idea but was never going to happen.

 

Urban album? Britney always starts there but it changes as she works with different producers. Just like BOMT started as a more Alternative pop rock of Natalie Imbuliga. And she of course was signed singing Whitney. Though the fact that Britney starts at the Urban does indicate that is where she naturally edges toward. 

 

That picture of something from all the albums was fan made but cute. That is why it was posted. 

 

Imo (though I still love the album) BJ is missing 2 important things: A killer pop song and tight production. The songs are still Good but the album had a hack leading the way. And I don't mean Will i am but Anthony Preston who was the real crafting Producer.
