Let's be honest: What does the Vegas residency really mean?

Like, in the bigger picture, what do you think her team is envisioning her career will go with the Vegas residency?

 

Do you think she's on her way to retirement? Do you think she'll go the Celine route going Vegas then another world tour then back to Vegas? Is Britney the popstar, who performs on TV shows and awards shows over? Do you think another peak ala Emancipation or Ray of Light is still on their minds?

Personally, I could see Britney focusing more on family and quietly leaving the industry, but not in 2016. I could see her finishing Vegas in 2016 - 2018, and then starting on her final album. I can see it being adult contemporary pop with honest lyrics maybe a tour again and a greatest hits album. Then she moves back to the south and has a new life with David and her kids!

I just want a Super Bowl performance PLEASE.

She's probably gonna stick with this Vegas thing for awhile. She's performing and being able to spend lots of time with her kids, her two loves. Vegas is giving her the best possible balance ever. This does however, mean that she won't be doing tv performances/promo and huge album cycles ever again. Her focus will probably mainly be these shows like Cher or Celine have done.

every move has it's risks, this is just another that's paid off for britney both for her personal and professional lives.
