No. The only reason Britney's career would ever be in a decline is because she's not doing anything herself to keep it going. She can, at any point, be back on top, but she has to make the effort to do so. With that said, she's still selling out shows so I wouldn't say her career is in decline anyway. The only thing declining is her credibility as an artist, however she never had much of that to begin with. People simply refuse to recognize her talents.

She's been through worse. Like in 2007 with the media. She just bounced back even stronger with Circus after that! I think the only reason we lost to "Keeeeesha" is because of the fans being pressed that billboard called us "Spearleaders." I think Britney Spears has the talent and following to make a comeback but she needs to put in more effort. Like, she could easily sing her ballads live but won't. She's done it before with Everytime and INAGNYAW.

Fan competitions?  I don't even know what competition you speak of that she apparently lost to "Kesha" and I am a HUGE Britney fan and have been for 16 years now.  I'm also 31, and like a lot of her older fans we don't obsess over these little internet polls and vote 10 million times a day - why?  because they don't matter.  If I happen to see one and I'm bored I'll click her name, but that's it.  When I was a teen, and TRL was HUGE - I and the "Army" made her #1 or at least top 3 EVERY day by voting online and calling in to MTV.  Because of us doing that, she is where she is today - well maybe not completely but it sure as hell helped her hype and got her videos seen on a daily rotation.

 

As far as "Alien" goes, well, we've had this happen before with her DWAD "Live" vocals - I don't even recall if they were proven fake or not - that's how serious that was.  Of course, if they were real we know she was dancing her ass off, so anyone would sound like that.  

 

At the end of the day Britney Spears isn't known as some amazing vocalist.  What she IS known for is a signature sound - you hear her, and you KNOW it's her.  The auto tune might be on high, her voice might be manipulated 10,000 ways, but you KNOW it's her.  Her vocals, again, manipulated a million different ways, still make or break a track.  I can't even get through 30 second of that "Toxic" demo nor can I even try and listen to someone cover one of her tracks - it just doesn't work.  Aside from being known as an entertainer, her voice is very distinct and recognizable.  Big voices are great, but unless you have some other unique talent, you will sound just like the next "big" singer.  

 

Bottom line, if she can sell out Vegas night after night without even singing one live note, I don't think this is a problem.  I DO think she should at least ATTEMPT to sing live for SOME of the show, but whatever the reason is, we will never know the truth - but the sales are a testament to her hit songs and iconic performances throughout the year.  

 

As far as Britney ever becoming HUGE again (like a "Ray of light" or "MIMI"), it's up to her - she can have ANYTHING she wants.  Britney has access to vocal training, choreographers, promo plans, managers, media reps - all at her fingertips - she just needs to WANT to go through that again - and it hurt her bad so she may just be happy where she is at this point.  I'd love a FULL return to form though - but as the "new" Britney.
