 Haters gonna hate, but they know she deserves respect as an innovator in pop music. She's at legend status :Godney:. She just needs one more amazing album to show the world why she's The Legendary Miss Britney Spears, former Princess now Queen of Pop.

Of course.

However, I think it's less likely for people to put Britney up there with MJ, even if they think she's on par with Madonna, because after all these years a lot of people still think Madonna lacks credibility as an artist. Whereas MJ is pretty much recognized as an innovative and super talented legend, even by haters.

But if you're not deluded, you'll know that both Britney and Madonna are legends.

People my age really don't see Madonna as much as a legend as MJ. She's seen as creation an all but she is kinda just there and not the queen AT ALL to my generation.

So britney I think is kinda above her cos she's made an impact to my generation. But atm, I think she still in need of that one more album that pushes her in everyone's faces and says it's britney bitch. Even if it's just at Beyonces last album kind of style

Britney was the first Artist groomed  to be Pop Royalty. Britney was a product from the beginning. They sold her image around the world. Britney always had talent and she had her freedom back then, however, Britney had a marketing machine behind her to promote everything she did. In the beginning you associate Britney with any Product and sales would go up. In my opinion Britney is the Crowned Princess of Pop. She is "Our Queen" but when it comes to the Music Industry in general Britney will be the Princess of Pop. I believe you can have many Princess but Britney has always been called the Heir Apparent to Madonna, and the Industry still looks at Madonna as Queen of Pop.

I wonder how future generations will see it, though. It may not be Britney's prime anymore, but I hope videos like these stand the test of time.

The Princess of Pop.

I'm not sure about MJ's career, but he had declines, just from what I've heard, but I'm not sure. I hope an MJ fan can tell us more about his career :)

It doesn't matter how future generations see it. Britney has broke more "Records" her first year then any other Teenager Artist in History. Even Justin Bieber who had the internet advantage and started earlier couldn't compete. Britney is also 5th biggest selling artist ever. And she is the youngest female Artist to not only once but twice to occupy the The Hot 100 and Billboard 200 at the same time.

I think if Britney Jean was more like Blackout and introduced new sounds, etc she would be Queen of Pop and could take a break

She had Blackout and Femme Fatale (which both influcened pop stars) , you could say Circus too but Blackout more so.

She needs to do another new fresh sounding album and then I think she can rest and just watch everyone copy her while she will be Queen of Pop

In my heart, she's my Queen, but it's more realistic to say she's Princess of Pop, alongside of Madonna, Queen of Pop and the late Michael Jackson, who's still King of Pop after his death. For me that is Pop Royalty.  :Godney:

it depends really

i think anybody who is really into pop music and pop culture and is probably of the younger generation (40's and under) can appreciate how iconic she is and her legacy

i think anybody 50 and over doesn't take any current music seriously and only looks at the vocal talent of artists and doesn't even consider the rest real artists

tbh her legacy is still being formed and argued today, so it'll still be some time before we know the full extent of her impact going forwards into the new decade and century. To the vast majority of the GP, she's still defined by 2007 and her associations with Paris and Lindsay and isn't seen on the same cerebral level of innovation as Madge or MJ is.

There's really only been one star to implode and then rebuild their image to peak form and that's Robert Downey Jr. Ask your parents (if you're American at least) about RDJ before Iron Man: they'd all tell you he was talented but extremely self-destructive, reckless, and careening towards certain death. In order to cement her impact for the ages, Brinny needs her Iron Man pilot; in other words, a critically acclaimed, GP-supported effort that isn't clouded by the rest of her life (her life events circa 2007 both add and detract from Blackout if we're being honest here).

I don't think that is true. anyone 50 and over may say vocally Britney isn't talented but she is still an Artist. Britney makes up for her vocal short coming by putting on a great show and that is why people of "ALL" ages love Britney.

Lbr, had MJ not died, people wouldn't be respecting him either

He was all over the news with bad media like child molesting stories

The comparison between him and Madonna isn't fair, because people have refreshed their minds of him as a legend when he died

People remember britney when she had a breakdown

And they don't remember madonna at all

In short, she needs her REAL Ray of Light or Confessions on the Dance Floor. Madonna's status was into question before Ray of Light.

The world is still recovering from Madonna's Sex Book tbh and the trainwreck she was during Erotica

Essentially. What's in question by everyone is whether Brinny has a Ray of Light or a Thriller inside her still post-breakdown

Or even just an Emancipation of Mimi.

I really hope so, Britney's still pretty young. I hope when her kids get older, Britney at least tries to focus on making a musical masterpiece again. Most of the fanbase is expecting Britney to have more kids, but I actually don't see it happening for some reason :yaknow:
