FactoryGirl Posted July 17, 2014 #1 Report Posted July 17, 2014 I got a cold recently and I thought I was doing better, but since I started going to the summer university in my town, I wake up early every day, I yawn all day long, I can't eat properly, I can't "go to the bathroom" properly, I always feel tired and I can't stand for too long. I even threw up a night before. I probably have to rest and lie in bed all day in order to get rid of the cold, but I have stuff to do + I'd rather die then lie in bed all day long. I drink vitamins and some other s*it, but it's not boosting my energy very much. I need something to boost my energy, what do you guys think I should do/take?
IGOTYOUCRAZY Posted July 17, 2014 #2 Report Posted July 17, 2014 Well since I have no idea what to do in this kind of situations I wish you the very best luck

nineliveslikeakittycat Posted July 17, 2014 #4 Report Posted July 17, 2014 I got a cold when I lived in Denver for school and the doctor told me all I could do was take decongestant medicine, pain pills, and wait it out. I also had my cold during finals so I didn't have time to sit around and lay in bed. It took me awhile to get over it.
Lsuboi89 Posted July 17, 2014 #5 Report Posted July 17, 2014 Mucinex and vitamin C, b6, and b12 chewables usually help me out. But you definitely have to find time to get sleep too. Your body won't heal as quickly or efficient without it. You don't have to sleep all day but 8-9 hours is a good range. Eating more fiber and veggies will help with your using the bathroom problems. Broccoli is good for it. I would go see a doctor if it's been longer than 2 weeks. They usually give you stuff stronger than over the counter things that knock it out quicker. I honestly use advocare spark for energy but I'm a huge advocare fan. Just can get pricey. But honestly it just seems like u need more sleep. I know I used get that way during the work week so I try to get at least 8-9 hours now. You will be surprised how just that little change can work wonders.

Sgt. Spears Posted July 18, 2014 #7 Report Posted July 18, 2014 I agree with the others about getting more sleep
Far Beyond Posted July 20, 2014 #8 Report Posted July 20, 2014 theres alot to say....but first can you afford to see a doc? like do you have health insurance? if you are constantly tired that may be a sign of a sleeping disorder, and I highly suggest you check it out if so. Also I work out and use pre-workout booster powder mixes (like no-xplode is probably the most popular)...some of it is very high in caffeine, and using it as an energy drink you will develop a tolerance. Read reviews, go to health shops, etc and find out which supplement could possibly be right for you. But read the labels carefully, if you have heart conditions, high blood pressure etc also...this is just a suggestion, so be careful
Guest Lᴜᴠ3ɪ♥Hᴀᴛᴇɪ Posted July 20, 2014 #9 Report Posted July 20, 2014 I'm sick too, and I'm getting over it quickly. Hopefully what worked for me will help you! -Drink kelp smoothie (it works wonders like omg I was surprised myself) -Drink lemon water -Drink detox tea (if you have any) -Take robitussin it's so gross but works like magic -Lots of sleep ofc, good luck. Get well!
Urbanney Posted July 21, 2014 #11 Report Posted July 21, 2014 I'm not sure what to take as I usually just take cold medicine when I get sick, drink plenty of water, healthy food, soup, get plenty of sleep etc. I hope you're feeling better though
Babydoll Posted July 21, 2014 #12 Report Posted July 21, 2014 I don't know what kind of medicine you could take, cuz I live in Mexico and you can find a lot of pills here to help you to get rid fo the cold, but I don't think those are legal in any other country But, I hope you get better soon
Nelli Gaidai Posted July 22, 2014 #13 Report Posted July 22, 2014 i never take any medicine when i get a cold. and i am like u , i hate staying in bed. but i guess u could just take things easily. like dont b hard on urself. if u dont wanna sleep, at least lie in bed and study etc. drink lots of fluids, and eat chicken soup and try not to stress out. ur body is already under a lot of stress so go a little easy with the studying. try to give ur body a break
