Ignacio Posted July 18, 2014 #1 Report Posted July 18, 2014 So I was cleaning my apartment/doing my laundry listening to Slaycus Circus when I got to My Baby, and I remembered all the hate it gets. To me it's such an emotional, personal ballad Britney did. It was a period in her life where she almost lost her babies, and decided to make a song about them. It's almost like the prelude to Brightest Morning Star. The instrumental is fantastic in my opinion. It sounds so different, and the piano, guitar, everything just works perfectly. I guess it may be because of Britney's voice being so high. I actually think that is good, it shows her vocal skills. She actually sings really well in that song. Why do you think so many people hate "My Baby"? Is it her voice? Is it "I smell your breath, it makes me cry"? 4

If their breath makes her cry, what's wrong with her putting it in a song? I mean there are songs out there about worse things than smell making someone cry. I love that song and of course it has to be cheesy, that song is meant to be like a lullaby to her babies! I can feel Britney's emotions in that song, and that's why I love it I agree so much. You can hear she was really into the song. It is just so good and lovely. 1

So recording a song for your own babies, basically your life, your inspiration to live is something really special. The lyrics are written from a deep place in Britney's heart, so don't make fun out of them. Don't like Mmm, Papi, tho.
