The first is that Britney simply couldn't keep up the signature/baby voice she's known for and Myah was called in, standing in at the "baby voice" parts Brit couldn't manage. Over time, her voice changed and it probably hurt her to sing like that, and maybe even caused some damage over time. The reason she's been lipsynching to her old vocal tracks recently is because she can't do the signature voice live, and instead of the label letting her sing in her natural voice, they just make her synch. The second theory is that Britney originally wanted a more personal album, but the label wanted an album of potential hits (following Slay & Shout's success), but Britney wouldn't/couldn't sing them, hence Myah was hired. /rant

:tbh: Both make sense. I also think that since the original idea was scrapped, they had to rush production of BJ, so maybe Brit didn't have enough time to finish the songs. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt here, assuming she was focused on her kids, her relationship, preparing for Vegas, etc.

I was literally talking about this the other day. :smokeney:

I wouldn't mine listening her "new voice" maybe something more mature, we'd have enough of the baby voice

This. HOT, Alien, Perfume, and Don't Cry give me hope there's still some substance left to work with, and would be a lovely pivot in her career.

orrrrr do a total 180, become ratchet Trapney, and score a Believe while changing music forever :bj:

First of all the original idea wasn't scrapped in any time frame that would have affected a December Release. Will came on in April. Some songs were surely scrapped because producers couldn't work directly with Britney and of course there is probably some truth to the rumor that songs were pulled when it was decided there would be no BJ promo performances. I think there was no BJ promo performances because of they didn't want to risk want happened at FF promo to happen again and risk Vegas. When they decided that it left the album in chaos. Especially with Work Bitch not smashing.

My theory on BJ is that Will I am's album flopping in the US left him having to be in places other than the US especially as summer and fall had him planning and then touring. So no one was overseeing the album. It was left to Anthony Preston who was hired to do the Vocal production. I think he can't work fast and rushed everything at the last minute when the Label asked for more uptempos and Britney had some late personal songs to record because some of the ones she wanted were withdrawn from the songwriter/producer. I think AP was probably originally hired to be the full time vocal producer because of how Hold on tight turned out.

Myah is not on the album any more than back up singers have been in the past. She has been on all 3 of Brit's later studio albums and not just BJ. The problem with BJ is that there is some vocal over laying and it's hard to distinguish her and Britney here and there. Britney's early albums often used a male and then she used female singers that sound nothing like her so you can easily tell there there is some questionable sections even in the mid years. Hopefully for album 9 they use someone who doesn't style their vocals like Britney or who has a very different voice. I personally like how they used Myah in Work Bitch. It's just in Passenger that I have issue with but only if Britney isn't in the chorus at all. It sounds like Britney in the chorus to me. I mean Britney and other voices.

I know it's one line but Britney sung on that England Radio show. She sounds good enough that they didn't need to hire a stand in vocalist.

Hold on tight, Don't Cry and even Perfume is what Britney's Vocals sound like today. It's how she she sounds talking and singing.

Britney wanted the most personal album yet, and she had songs with her fave producers ready (wiliam orbit danja) , but the team scrapped her idea at the last minute, because they are money thirsty and thye thought this wont bring them money. So britney got angry and said she is not going to promote the album at all. Since she didnt wanna promote she probably didnt wanna sing in it either hence why they called Myah (but i think myah is only background vocal in the whole bj, the whole , her singing bj sharade is shit tbh ) . This is the only legit theory

How is this the only legit theory? Britney promoted the album. She just didn't perform though she did say she rather be performing than doing interviews.

Money is always an issue. Britney wasn't going to be doing promo performances so that limited the reach of the album. Which made song writers want to pull their songs. Which made the Album have even less reach. So even less money was spent to promote the album.

That Danja song got no where close to making the album. Britney never actually worked with Danja.  It wouldn't have sounded like past Danja's songs. Britney did work with Orbit though final Vocal production was done with Anthony Preston. Orbit was going to do more songs with Naughty Boy but those didn't get made.

It's not, because Britney sang Passenger first and apparently she's not singing that either

Myah is a back-up singer and she's been around since Circus and Britney has also been accused of not singing Circus as well

Of course people didn't care, because Circus was flawless and has sold millions of records

I really think Britney deserves a break. You can tell she's fed up of everything, lol. But it's the truth. She needs to focus on her personal life, then have vocal treatments and stuff and come back with a killer album ;)
