Is anybody else here a 1998 and up follower and fan? It seems like a lot of you on here are blackout-and up ... and it scares me...y'all didn't see homegirl at her greatest. Y'all missed some of her greatest performances (VMAS 2000, EMA 1999, and etc...) and for the love of god Crazy2k Tour, it was amazing. I saw Britney in toronto mall in 1998...Tell me if you saw her early on her career and if you did, any cool experiences?

Fan since 98'.  Experienced everything - saw every tour live (up to and including "Piece of me").  To this day, NO pop star has had Britney's impact - Not Bieber, Not One Direction, Not Miley Cyrus ect.  Growing up with the Pop Explosion of *Nsync, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Spice Girls was awesome - what we have now in the pop world just doesn't compare.  Pop music was top notch in the late 90's early 2000's.  I'm glad Britney survived and still gives us great music and performances.

Here and present! I was in 7th grade when Baby came out.
Actually when I was moving a few months ago, I came across 2 boxes of VHS's of random Britney stuff that I taped off the TV. It was weird popping them in (and seeing those fuckin 90s commercials lmao)
Anyway, the first time I saw B girl, I had saved up enough allowance to go to the Oops! Tour. Amazing! I thought it was the coolest thing since peanut butter lol.
I remember getting really REALLY anxious when the big silver orb lifted up and it slowly revealed Britney standing there.
It's weird to look back on it now, because I don't think some people get just how HUGE she was.
I mean Britney Spears was IT. I'm not saying she still isn't, but idk, I guess you had to have been a part of the whole "Britney phenomenon" at the time to fully get what it was like.
I think that's why I'm still attached to BOMT/Oops era Britney - she was the deal.

Totally didn't mean to write a thesis. My apologies

Ok, only official "Britney Spears" tours haha.  Seriously though, there's no way I could have gone to an M+M show because I live on the East Coast and that was a spur of the moment handful of shows that just happened out of nowhere.

OMG I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT U MEAN . all these newbie fans dont even know HALF of the impact and the person britney was. omgod it was so crazy. yeah i grew up in the 90s , i actually was born in another country but the legacy she's had esp. with britney album was all the way to all ends of earth. i also have seen lots of her videos and that is the person she was. when i watch them, i am like god i wish all these fans would see this. most people and britney fans nowadays never even seen half those videos. its crazy. that is how i remember her. i wish i had internet back than tho and more money. we were so poor and i was actually banned from liking any stars cuz i grew up so strictly religious.

OMGOD I NEED THOSE VIDEOS IN MY LIFE. i was banned from watching tv cuz of our crazy religion (it was almost just like amish omgod) and i will always miss the fact that i could never seen brit on tv thanks to my fucking dad. he was such a douche. would there b any way u could share those videos somehow? the videos i find online r such bad quality. i would love it if you could share some with us lessors who couldnt get our hands on them back them :crying1:

I grew up with Britney :crying1: I remember the excitement when Sometimes video premiered, and now fans of today don't appreciate it that much. And thinking that her VMA 07 performance was great and that Blackout is her best album, I mean, it's almost offensive to a fan, one that really lived the good eras back then. Maybe here in Mexico the situation was different, but she was everywhere, and it felt so nice everytime she slayed the top 10 and top 20 on MTV, and everytime they premiered a Making the video, or a tv special. Every new album, every new live performance, it was really amazing :crying5:

May I ask what religion? Mennonite?

And I SO wish I could help y'all but I don't know the first thing about how to convert old tapes or upload them or that stuff. I'm sorry I can't be of more help! You can probably find most of it on YouTube!

I know it's low quality but honestly the VHS tapes I have aren't much better, the film in them is so old and it's been watched and rewound and fast-forwarded so many times (from trying to learn dance moves HA!) that it's starting to wear away.

Even if im a New fan(2011) Stan(2013) I didn't missed any of this lol! I did watch all this perfomance on tv and heard of Britney Spears and think she was the biggest thing and the most famous person.. and she was! haha ..l only regret not being mature enough to appreciate her earlier in my life.. :( But it's cool now if she can still gain fans I think she still has a long career..

:raisehand: me

im fan since they broadcast baby one more time video between comercials on Fox Kids, i remember the exciment to see her vmas perfomances, or when they broadcast mtv's diary. and all kind of britney specials. she was everywere!

sadly im a mexican fan, and i've never saw her live till the circus tour, but i watch the oops tour on tnt in 2000 even the hawai special was broadcasted on national television here in mexico, and how to forget the exciment when las vegas dvd was launch!

and the most epic moment, the vmas 2003 and when they broadcast the abc's in the zone special!

those were the best britney's moments for me. and the best thing is that i don't have internet in that time, so every tv performance that i watch it was amazing at that time!

by the way when i saw baby one more time i was just 8 years old so i can said that i have grown up with britney almost all my life :crying1:

and our religion was christianity. baptist religion actually but since i lived in europe, it was completely different. it was SO. STICT. we couldnt even wear t-shirts, cut our hair (including trims), and wear jewerly or anything tight. there are more rules like a billion and it was insane. thank god my life isnt like that anymore. it ruined my childhood but its ok. things are different finally

Oh goodness! Well, despite all that, I'm glad you were able to be a Brit fan! :D:thumbsup:

And hopefully some of those videos are online somewhere. I hope you find some. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help

obsessed from the very beginning - I was a freshman in college (god I'm old) when Baby came out and even though she was younger than me and the music wasn't my usual style, I was totally hooked from the start.  She was my secret obsession ever since.  I've watched her every move from Baby up til now.  I love her so much, always and forever the goddess of pop <3

Im a fan since BOMT...missed her first tour (still pissed to this day I didnt even know about it)...and my first Britney concert was OIDIA

it was fucking magic, 2 friends (one of em was the girl I had a crush on) outdoor arena, there were fireflies and glowstix everywhere and it was just absolutely perfect. It was indescribable cuz I nearly had tears of excitement and joy the whole time. I was a complete mess of a fanboy at the time and it was like a dream. The shirt from the concert is still my lucky shirt, and I have never had a bad day wearing it.

I swear I coulda died that night and it woulda been perfect. But Im glad I didnt cuz I got to see Britney bring all sorts of badass concerts, and the memories are priceless. Just my first Brit show and the complete fuckin magic of the OIDIA era murders my heart any time I think about it.

Oops era was beyond perfect...I can hardly think about it without tearing up. Nothing will ever touch it

:raisehand:  :raisehand:  :raisehand: I've been a fan since the beginning, and i totally know what you meant about the Crazy2k Tour, It was my first concert ever and i remember being so excited about being the only person in my class that was going and how everyone was so jealous of me because i went.

March 13, 2000 - Louisville, KY Freedom Hall.

I was supposed to go see the Onyx Hotel Tour in Nashville, TN but it was one of the shows that got cancelled because of the knee injury  :crying4:
