BraveNewSeth Posted July 19, 2014 #26 Report Posted July 19, 2014 OMG I love reading this kind of threads please keep it going I do too, but it's also kind of bittersweet. I was only 3 years old when ...Baby One More Time was released. I completely missed Britney during her prime, tho I did become a fan in mid 2004. I always wish I could've experience the whole 90's phenomenon. Everything was better back then: music, television, movies, books... 1
JoshLee Posted July 19, 2014 #27 Report Posted July 19, 2014 The reason I missed it was because I was born in 1998 so sorry

I_need_me Posted July 19, 2014 #29 Report Posted July 19, 2014 When I was a child I didn't know much about Britney, and here in Spain they didn't show her performances or her tours so it was kinda hard for me to be a fan or her, but I remember watching Oops I did it again and Toxic on the TV and thinking just how cool she was. Then, when all the stuffs from 2007 were happening I was very shocked because I had always thought of her as perfect fashion girl who would never do that, so even tho I wasn't a fan I feelt really bad for her... Then when she released Womanizer they would play it on the radio and I was sooooooo slayed. I bought a CD that featured many pop songs from that year and Womanizer was one of them and I would replay that song over and over again! Then in 2010 I really started to get to know her, I became a fan and since then Godney has never left my side
Melindarebellion Posted July 19, 2014 #30 Report Posted July 19, 2014 Ive been a fan since BOMT, was obssesed with the Spice girls at first and Geri left the group the day after i saw them live and i was so sad britney came just a few months later and i remeber watching the awardshows live on tv and live from hawaii and everything and got her records on my bd and learning the dances an everything, i never lost my love for her, i love her even more now i couldnt ever see her live tho bc we didnt have the money, but i saw TCSBS and FFT at least, best time ever
Brian.TheDog Posted July 19, 2014 #31 Report Posted July 19, 2014 vintage? you make it seem like it was 40 years ago
ellshells Posted July 19, 2014 #32 Report Posted July 19, 2014 Another one here, good to see that there are more fans who appreciated her since the beginning. I remember when BOMT dropped, I was obsessed with it from the beginning and I was like 8 around that time. My parents bought me the CD single while I was on holiday on France and I kept playing it over and over in my discman (lol). I also remember spending all my pocket money on the Britney brands photo/sticker collection which they sold at our bookstore and on NYE they always aired a Britney tour on TV like OIDIA live in London. The first show I got to see was the Onyx Hotel Tour with my parents, it was a surprise for me and I was so excited! I coulnd't go the the OIDIA tour because I was too young, during onyx i was like 13/14 or something.
BraveNewSeth Posted July 19, 2014 #33 Report Posted July 19, 2014 Well but at least u got to experience a little bit of primeney tbh I wasn't even born when BOMT was released I guess... But my ten year anniversary of being a Britney fan is coming in August, so I'm really excited OMG! I can't believe Britney has fans that young! Not that I'm complaining. It's nice to see that Britney can pull in fans of any age. 1
HeavenOnGalaxy Posted July 19, 2014 #35 Report Posted July 19, 2014 I'm a fan since BOMT too, saw everythinggg
carlitos'crib Posted July 19, 2014 #37 Report Posted July 19, 2014 I'm a fan since 99 I was 12 back then.
paula24bs Posted July 19, 2014 #38 Report Posted July 19, 2014 britney only came to my country in 2004 and my brother didn't take me to onyx, so I missed primeney live, but I'm a fan since 99, and a stan since 03
Mersades Posted July 19, 2014 #39 Report Posted July 19, 2014 Her music didn't really hook me as a fan until ITZ, but I was 17 when ...Baby came out. You could not help but know who she was... She really was EVERYWHERE. I echo what others have said... I haven't seen anyone become as big in music since. The music industry seems to be on cruise control over the last decade, to be honest... I think I must have been spoiled in my childhood. I keep waiting for some new sound to shake up popular music like Nirvana, or Brit, or Shania did. I'm not sure if it due to my older perspective of having seen/heard more or if things really have just been cruising along without someone dropping a boulder into the pond.
PrinceAli89 Posted July 19, 2014 #40 Report Posted July 19, 2014 Lovin' this thread! It's good to see some Stans that are there since the beginning! I too became a fan in 1998 when "...Baby One More Time" came out. I was 9 years old and am still as obsessed as I was then as i am now if not more!

ooh la la Posted July 19, 2014 #42 Report Posted July 19, 2014 yes vintage fan circus was the first show though that i got to see though and never really saw any tv stuff because didn't have cable just two Irish television channels. remember watching the mtv european music awards in dublin on t.v and would have to watch top 40 hits chart show every sunday to see any of her videos and you'd only get to see a full video if it was in the top five. oh different times
nineliveslikeakittycat Posted July 20, 2014 #43 Report Posted July 20, 2014 ive liked brit since BOMT in fact when i first became a fan no one knew who she was and then she BLEW UP. it was cool to see i got to see her OIDIA tour and i won tickets off the radio. i was like a little girl then so i was so excited, screaming and jumping up and down. she was (and still is) everything to me. growing up during the 90s was also cool because of all the cool products they released for music artists... like the britney stickers, dolls, notebooks, candy, jewelry, etc. her face was legit on everything. i remember i used to always shop at limited too when i was little (now it is owned by justice) and they had a britney shirt once and my mom got it for me. i cried when my onyx date got cancelled. i stanned for her so hard (still do). i got into so many fights at school over her from 2005 - 2008. people are just cruel
timbits Posted July 20, 2014 #44 Report Posted July 20, 2014 I don't really remember a lot back than I was to busy focusing on being a child lol But now that I do look back I start to realize how luck most of us were to grow up with her. We saw her experience her stardom her falls we saw her cry in tears, but also picked herself up and continue on with her life! She is our everything when I see all of her videos from back than I cry I get a nostalgic feeling. But I love it because we get to look back at it and go I experience that very special moment and now our kids everybody from the new generation when all of us are old and crippled can go Kids you need to watch this flawlessness I'm going to make my kids watch hours and hours of Britney footage
britffan6669 Posted July 20, 2014 #45 Report Posted July 20, 2014 I rather live in the now then in the past
wiloconyx Posted July 20, 2014 #46 Report Posted July 20, 2014 yes! fan since the very beginning! I remember i saw the BOMT video and i had to know who that was! i loved the song and video so much! My mother bought me the cd single from bomt and from that day i bought all of her cd's and singles and never stopped collecting! in 2000 i saw her for the first time live (oops tour) that tour will always have a special place in my heart cuz thats when i saw my girl for the first time so many memories!
MissBuffySpears Posted July 20, 2014 #47 Report Posted July 20, 2014 Me! I went to her Oops I Did It Again tour which was my first concert ever. I remember when I went into a store I looked to see what Britney stuff they had because almost every store I went into had Britney merchandise everywhere. Dolls, School supplies, posters, bubblegum, stickers in the machines, other collectibles, etc.
Crazy2k Posted July 21, 2014 Author #48 Report Posted July 21, 2014 MEGABUMP. Holy shit guys! I read 3 pages of inspirational and awesome posts!! Had no idea so many of you were early fans as myself!! So righteous! Now here's a big question...did any of you happen to get video while you were at one of her early concerts? (1998-2002)
