Does anyone else find the opening for POM kinda underwhelming?

I mean, it looks like the least explosive, compared to all her tour openings. Even FFT looked more epic.

 

I think Piece of Me would've been a better choice for an opening if/when they revamp the set next year. The song deserves more epic production than it has at the show right now because it's basically her lifestory and it is the title of the show

 

Piece of Me would be perfect for something like this, where it has dancers wear her iconic outfits and is just a huge celebration of her career. It doesn't even need to have lots of dancing (maybe just one dance break), just incredible attitude and great, epic production.

Her past tours have been bigger with better production, and the fact that POM is in one location, I thought that would give them the stability to really do something big.

This. I remember during the Circus Tour reviews would be like "It's a Vegas show but on the road" so I have no idea why they downplayed the production this time considering it's an actual Vegas show. I mean don't get me wrong the production is great but not to that scale.. It's not as big as it could be for being in one spot. They went on about how they could do so much more being in the one place but I see nothing you can't do on a tour besides a Tree and projection?

Yes! I agree with all the comments so far tbh. Her intro for every tour since DWAD has been a huge spectacle, but POM is just kinda lackluster in comparison... Even FFT was more epic just by the sheer size of the giant screens opening up to reveal Britney. Sure the metal ball is cool looking but it's nothing really special. Maybe it's cooler in person? Idk.

I feel like WB, while high energy, just isn't a fast enough song to really be SUPER exciting. I'm not going to pass judgement until I see it in person though. More explosions would be cool tho lol.

I've seen the show live and it's a great moment in the show!

Work Bitch is a great opening number but the intro is really short and pretty boring!

They won't change the opening intro. The show is really great and I enjoy it as a little kid at home, I can't imagine if I get the chance to see it lol. However, I like POM and I know it is a Greatest-Hits-kind-of Tour but I miss the storyline like FF had.

Britney is legendary and deserves an intro (and entire show really) that lives up to her legendary status. And I also wish she's film some interludes like the ones in Circus and FF, so we can see her during songs and in between them.

 the concert piece of me is not great as a whole though. looking on you tube it kind of looks like a dress rehearsal in places cause it looks like just hitting the marks and going through the paces. only good bit in the show really is the break the ice part.  those i wanna go hand movements look terrible when she is trying to pep up the crowd. at the opening number she starts singing the main bit and you can even see her it has no bam about it its all very hitting points for the camera now we'll move to the next part it has no feeling it is as dead as a door nail in my opinion which i don't get because she could have gotten down with the venue and did a great show.

the whole transition from everytime to the darkness of bomt and oops, the transition from IWG to lucky is so beautiful and dramatic. it's like one second she's the star of this big circus and then she sits down by herself and thinks about why she still isn't happy

but yeah back to the OP i agree, work bitch is a terrible song to open with. i always think you shouldn't open with a song that is to specific about a meaning like love, or (working) (  ) the best opening songs are the ones that are either about dancing or herself (circus, pom, iwg, stronger, etc)

i always had a vision of piece of me being the opening number, a very dramatic video and then the curtain drops, she's in a huge glass bubble  with cameras flashing all around her and at her (representing the media attention), she starts the song off in a slow dramatic remix then she kicks the ball and it cracks open (que fake sound effects) and she has a sexy boxer outfit on and slays the whole audience

There's far too much FFT footage included in the opening backdrop of POM for my liking tbh. Out of all the legendary footage of GODNEY, they honed in on that particular tour for some odd reason.  Like, some footage from the OHT wouldn't have hurt.

This remix would be perfect cause it's kinda consistent with the rock remixes she likes to make on tour

 

 

I imagine the ball would fall on the ground and "explode" and she'd be there and just rocking out (prerecorded RECENT vocals ) and I have like a hundred dancers onstage kinda like this, but with more fire and explosions and her dancers are dressed as paparazzi

And in the middle of the performance around the bridge, dancers would emerge from under the stage in her iconic outfits (schoolgirl outfit, Oops catsuit, Slave 4 u VMAs, Toxic stewardess, Gimme More VMAs outfit, ringleader costume and TTWE jacket) and she'd interact with them, then do a fierce dancebreak with them...

I dunno, I love that she's dancing but I feel like the performance should've reflected the essence of the song more, which Circus Tour did so well. TTWE is kinda cool though, it feels like a big party, although the FFT closing of her with the wings was more worthy

 

Lucky was a missed opportunity for her to say a few words about fame or something because that's the vibe it gives... and to sing live
