I honestly was not shocked coz of the fact of britney not being nominated on VMAs.

 

She already got the vanguard award? and from now on, i don't think they will nominate her unless she does something really shocking or comes out with a huge hit.

 

 

But that is only my opnion :) #NoBritneyNoVMA

i said it before and i'll say it again, britney's vanguard was her farewell to the vma's. she won't be back

No, the Vanguard Award is not the reason. Michael Jackson won his Vanguard Award in 1988 and still was nominated in 1989, 1992, 1993 and 1995 - not mentioning he was nominated this year again

Scream and Shout was a huge hit and didn't get a nomination last year. Britney isn't going to be at the VMA's and that is probably why she isn't nominated. Her presence at the award show gets people's attention. Britney is just a part of the VMA's for the people who grew up in or just enjoyed shows during her music life time. So many people worship Britney before and after nearly every show since 1999. 

 

MTV uses Britney for press and not because it ever respected her. So if she sin't giving them press, they aren't going to nominate her. Even when S&S deserved at least one last year and Work Bitch deserved at least one this year. 

Nah she didn't get nominated because BJ & Work Bitch didn't get enough hype...point blank...they nominate songs that received massive hype in the year....I bet her next album she'll get nominated though

I'm really starting to think that they gave her the Video Vanguard Award, in name of all of her early (amazing) videos that always got nominations but never actually won, and for her future videos. Other reason is that maybe they always tend to give the awards to the worst out there: BOMT, Oops, Slave, MATM, Toxic, Circus, IWG didn't win anything, but her worst video, Piece of Me received 3 awards, I mean, whoever is in charge of deciding who are the nominees or who wins, is fucking insane. I understand that probably the POM awards were paid or they agreed with team Britney to make her comeback more amazing (and also I think that was the first year fans could vote for the winners, right?).

Womanizer deserved the award, in 2009, but I think Circus was so much better, and it got so much more nominations, but it didn't win at least one. Till the World Ends, again I think they gave her the award just because of her appearance on the show, but HIAM was completely ignored, and I think it was more epic, as a videoclip. IWG wasn't nominated in 2011 because it was released just before the deadline finished, but I think they could have made an exception and nominate it in 2012, or at least Criminal for best female or one of those professional categories or whatever they call them.

S&S was really huge, and again it was ignored in 2013, it wasn't even nominated for best duet. It's just, arrrgh, I'm not even talking about Britney winning, just the nomination would be enough, but it's so painful to watch how they ignore someone who has been really important for the show in the past decade.

And this year, well, I know there were a lot of hits, but I think Work Bitched deserved, at the very least, a nomination for best choreo. I mean, this is not the Grammy's or Billboard, the VMA's are supposed to praise the best videos, not the songs themselves. And not just because I'm a Britney fan, but I think Work Bitch was really good. And at the same time, even though I'm a Britney fan, I recognize that Perfume wasn't that good, so I wasn't even expecting something for it. But Work Bitch really deserved more. Well, actually deserved something, because we can't ask for more, when it got zero nominations. :icanttt:

Anyway, I think this is gonna be the situation from now on. If we're lucky enough, maybe someday they nominate Britney again at the PCA. I really had hope with WB, but after this, they have really killed it. :crying3:

The fact is that even Wrecking Ball was nominated for Video Of The Year (?!?!?!),

only then I realized that the VMA's is for kids. only kids and teenagers vote and acctually care about these award shows,

and this is why every nominee is the one that had the most download's or the biggest controversy.

 

A LOT of quality music is left out.

Every normal person will say that the Work Bitch video is way more special and made with thought, over the Wrecking Ball video That couldent be made with less thought but to make a controversy.

 

It's sad, but true.

Scream & Shout isnt a Britney track tho its a Will.i.am track so it doesn/t count for her...and she wasn't in attendance for the 2009 VMA's but she was nominated for best pop video and won (she was on tour).....however i do agree that they used her especially in the past for ratings
